I got some different tips. We did have to make a custom gooseneck to raise them, when installed based off of the old tip, they sat way too low.

I'm curious as to how many people are using a custom "goose neck" fitting like Charles mentioned in the 1st page. Also it seems like others are cutting them exactly at the factory weld and just installing them from there? Just trying to understand since I will be doing this soon.:biggrin:

The Red Tail tips I purchased are same length as the OE single tip, therefore when cut at the weld and the new tips installed the exit distance at the rear bumper/diffuser is the same as OE. Only difference is 2 tips at 3" per side vs. 1 at 3.5".

Hope this helps as it really shouldn't be this difficult

Not taking them to 510. They want $100. They told me to find a muffler shop that would be better pricing.

So I can do these with cutouts and have good looks, plenty of sound and flow when wanted with no drone when I don't, and save money vs a catback? Hmmm...

I had told/asked my wife about putting the SW catback system on the car, for $1300, and that did NOT go over well. So far, she hasn't peeked into the box that arrived a couple of days ago, but when it finally comes out that I bought these for the SS, I'm planning on laying on her the "$120 solution" vs. the $1300 choice, and that ought to smooth things over a bit.... Theoretically.

One on right is straight cut, one on left is angle cut (as requested)?

If they are cut top to bottom at an angle, then they are both for the same side. If the tips are straight cuts, then you would just be flipping it....but it looks like they are cut at an angle top to bottom so flipping wouldnt work
