So I can do these with cutouts and have good looks, plenty of sound and flow when wanted with no drone when I don't, and save money vs a catback? Hmmm...

that was kinda my take, it's a 100% aesthetic thing. The car SHOULD have come with quad tips but that has been discussed and debated plenty already.

The stock exhaust may be restrictive but at low rpm the car is pretty quiet and personally I like ability to be stealthy when I want to.

Looks just that little bit too wide for the opening. Do they hang that low when the car is on the ground? Cause they also look just that little bit too low as well.
I noticed that after I posted the photos also. As far as the height they look much better when the car is on the ground. Concerning the width, they fit the opening, with 0.5" or so clearance on each side.

When we were test fitting the Solo exhaust, we tried the 3.5" tips and had the same result...they didn't feel comfortable putting them on, due to the lack of clearance and possibility melting the plastic.

I'd be curious to see if you have any issues.

I'm going to keep a close eye on it to make sure. The weather has been pretty cool the past few days, and I haven't driven anywhere other than to work and back (15 min trip), so not much to report yet. Upon further review of the vertical alignment, I'm going to stop by an exhaust shop tomorrow to see if they can modify the rear hangers to bring them up maybe 0.75" to 1.0" or so.

I measured my 3" duals yesterday, 1" on left and right sides, ~1-3/8" at the top. The top sits maybe 1/8" lower than the OE 3-1/2" single tip. The clearance is good all the way around but without looking too small. Wish I had measured the OE single tip but it had to be around 2-1/2 to 3" on each side.

Whatever route you go I'm sure you'll be happy, quad tips complete "the look" of the SS.

They really do look perfect. This weekend I saw a car that I hadn't ever seen before, and I immediately thought "That's it! That's exactly how I want my SS to look!" It was fantastic in person.

So I guess I'm getting some of these dual tips, RJ. Thanks for the follow up. They look dope.

Thats a Jaguar XF. Hard to tell if it's and R but I believe it is. Love those cars. Big four door with a 550hp supercharged V8.

Actually, I had to Internet pretty hard to figure out what kind of Jag that thing is. Turns out, it's not just an XFR, its a 1-of-only-100, 2014 XFR-S. Costs just over 100,000.

If I'd have known what I was looking at I'd have taken more pics.

funny story, a friends wife has a XF yet she prefers to "steal" her's son's CTS-V as she says it's faster and rides better.

Getting mine done this week. I got the Red Tails. The diffuser was obviously set up for quad tips and the single tip just looks a little lost in that large opening. Can't wait to see how it looks when done!

Found a highly referred local exhaust shop who was able to sung these up a bit today. It definitely fills up the diffuser, but in looking at pics of the Kooks system installed it appears they use a similar style tip. Hopefully they did their homework and I have nothing to worry about!

Are you high?
My mom has an XF Supercharged and that thing SCREAMS for a huge sedan.(470hp) Never driven an R version(550? those things have 550?)...but that is one NASTY luxury sedan! I don't think we would have a chance against an R in our stock form.

Here she is sporting her new 50% tint and new Red Tail tips! Standing tall and lookin' good!
