Wondering if anyone would like to trade there 14-15 Rear lower cushion with the cup holder in it for my '17 without the cup holder. My car has under 5k miles. It still is in New condition. Would like your to be as well.

If anyone in MD, DE, NJ, northern to central VA, northern WV, or the eastern half of PA has a 2014 and is willing to give up their cupholder seat bottom, I will meet you, pay you, and give you my 2017 bottom cushion as part of the deal. Looks like there are only a couple of wrecking yards in the country that have this part, and the ones they have are in bad condition and quite expensive.

I believe it’s been tried on the G8. Didn’t work.

One, not having to have your trunk open, and two, the ability to open the cupholders without getting out of the car and putting the pass-through down. Also, they are ever so slightly closer to the front seat than the pass-through cupholders, which is nice for those of us with manual transmissions who can't really use the left front cupholder.

Certainly seems like the original cupholder in the seat cushion was more usable. But as they say, sometimes it's a matter of "continual product improvement". I actually take that to mean (in this case) that it was much more expensive to produce -or- they were getting a lot of warranty repair costs. Like if people were sliding across to the center of the seat without realizing the cupholder was open.
