Great info!
You should send a copy to Autoblog.
But it's not a story on Elon or Tesla so they probably won't publish the data hahaha jk.

Maybe someone could show them this so they and everyone else will stop posting stories about how "bad" the limited-production, completely-unknown, outsells-its-closest-competitor-despite-no-advertising SS sells.

Thanks for creating this.

Autoblog use to be a good site but now it is just fluff and paid advertising.

Well done! Very interesting chart. With about 250 million cars on US roads, there's about 36 of our unicorns per million cars. (If I calculated correctly.)

That is so cool -- thank you for this fun fact! And thanks to the OP for all the hard work!

I love rare, stock vehicles...I think the rarest I ever owned was a 1988 Isuzu Impulse. I wish I hadn't parted with it just because of the rarity factor. Handling was superb but it was underpowered and you could NOT get parts for it to save your LIFE so that was part of why I let it go.

Nice! Thanks. Will be interested to see the final stats including all the 2016/2017's. Little surprised only roughly 25% of cars were manuals in the years they were offered. But I guess I'm even more surprised they even offered a manual.

Color breakdown also neat. Quite a drop off in percentage after the three main colors.

I got bored, so I decided to compile a spreadsheet with all of the production and sales info available. I tried to break everything down as much as possible and give percentages of each option by year and overall, etc.

You can view the document here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13XTQlI09IFECrsqla8Dg0ewNnwVNlEXSM45VWe9D_g4/edit?usp=sharing

Cycle through the tabs at the bottom to get to the specific breakdowns for each year. Hopefully you all find this helpful and informative! I tried to include all of the information available so far. Let me know if there's something you feel should be included and I will try to accommodate all requests. And yes I will update the sheet with 2017 data once that model year is complete and data is released for it. I will also be updating the sheet once the sales numbers are released each month. And definitely let me know if you find any mistakes!

This is the first google sheets document I've ever made so hopefully it came out correctly. Also, I should point out that all of the colors are almost 100% accurate on my computer. If they look wrong on your computer, then it is just a difference in how our displays show coloring. I'm also not sure how this will show up on older versions of Windows and on Apple products so let me know if you are having issues.

You can also save the file and edit it yourself if you wish.

Well done! Thanks for your efforts!

Wow! You must have been super bored to take the time to do the spreadsheet. That's great work. Thanks for doing it. I had started a much inferior project of copying the 2014-2016 production stats provided here by CCC into an MS Word document, then compile some items of my interest. That was super slow and piecemeal. When I found your post, I was very relieved, and abandoned my prior efforts. The spreadsheet provides at a glance what I was after, plus.

I'm sorry you got bored, but glad you found this to be a cure, one that will also help others fight boredom.

Again thanks.

Just had a chance to look at this other than on the phone app. A lot of effort went into it and it is a great resource...Thanks smann! Printed it all off and put in my "everything SS" binder.

Updated the file to reflect the response from CCC. All of the internal vehicles are now included in with the other vehicles, so the final numbers are 100% correct!

smann, First off you are the sMANn. I love the enthusiasm, I'm a sucker for stats and data.
And second, I'm also getting restless. There is a lull in the SS news, chatter and new posts on the forum.

I like the double-asterisk note about the difference between limited production and "not selling well".

Thanks for putting this together! I need to download and print it, then again once we have final 2017 data.

Having all these neat bits of history and documentation in the car's binder just makes it that much cooler to own and wrench on.

Great job putting this together. One thing that stuck out to me as particularly interesting is the big drop in production numbers for 2016.

-359 -10.2% 2014-2015 Year-Over-Year (YOY) Production Change
-947 -29.9% 2015-2016 Year-Over-Year (YOY) Production Change
-2221 -100.0% 2016-2017 Year-Over-Year (YOY) Production Change
I saw posts mentioning a 1000 unit order from Holden for 2017, but it wasn't clear to me if that was a total production of 1000 for 2017, or an addition to what was previously planned. If it's limited to a total of 1000 for 2017, makes me wonder if the units will be badged x/1000.

Maybe the last SS 1000/1000 will sell on eBay for 2-3x MSRP like the final final final Evo X.

Update:

- Added in color codes and touch up paint info on the overall tab

This is kind of becoming just a giant info sheet of everything you could possibly want to know about the SS to make finding info easier for everyone haha. As such, I will just be updating it periodically when I find more info to put in it.
