I just got an email from Autoweek saying in addition to all the other enhancements that the 2015 SS will come with rear Brembos.
Thank you! I know I read that somewhere.Just read an article on GoAuto - Car Reviews - Car Research - Car News - Used Car Research that the 2015 will get Auto Park and rear Brembo's with a larger than front 360mm rotor. I for the life of me don't know why you would get bigger stoppers on the rear vs fronts?
Perhaps I could be enlightened![]()
The features keep getting better...but now I am really beginning to wonder how much of a price increase we will see. If the price before taxes crosses $50K then this does really start to get into the price bracket of some other compelling cars. This Chevy site confirms standard rear brembo brakes.
Chevrolet News - United States - Chevrolet SS
New for 2015
Magnetic Ride Control – standard
Six-speed manual transmission – available
Brembo rear brakes join standard Brembo front brakes
OnStar 4G LTE with built-in Wi-Fi hotspot (3GB/three-month data trial)
Exterior colors: Perfect Blue, Some Like it Hot Red, Alchemy Purple, Jungle Green and Regal Peacock Green
I'm not familiar with order guides, but if rear Brembos are standard and not optional, would they still show up on the order guide? If you look at the order guide it does not show rear Brembos.
We'll just have to wait to see what comes with the 2015 SS. I agree that there will NOT be a move (actually a regression) to Camaro handbrake--my point there is that the electronic park brake on VF has not made it's way to Camaro in it's current guise (Zeta), and the current VF park brake would hopefully remain as far as the diameter of the brake shoe, thus rotor design (as in DBA 42031, which is smaller than Camaro park brake)--not a matter of the actuation method. It has been stated that this vehicle will have 4p Brembo's all round too. I think you will find the Craig Lowndes Edition of 161 will be the "test vehicles" for this.....I don't believe Holden will go up to the Camaro handbrake but I stand to be corrected.
