I just got an email from Autoweek saying in addition to all the other enhancements that the 2015 SS will come with rear Brembos.

sweet, now add the LT1 and consider it sold! As nice as the LS3 is its just not enough of step up from an LS2 going from my 05 GTO.

2015 Chevrolet SS gets available stick shift | Autoweek

This is the only article I can find on autoweek.com

It may come with rear 4 pistons but I can't see them doing that unless they need it for MRC to work right. I have no actual knowledge of that being the case but I don't program shocks and stability control for a living so I am not sure what extra work is needed to change brakes.

Auto Park is already confirmed - their is a video posted of it being demonstrated by a GM staffer. Thus, perhaps the rear Brembos will indeed follow. We'll know soon enough.

The 2014 SS was amazing in the handling/braking department. Any enhancement will only serve to solidify this as the ultimate sleeper performance sedan from Chevy. EVER. With or without Brembos on the rear - the addition of MRC, manual transmission and the oft rumored upgraded exhaust make this my dream car...coming to my garage next spring!!!

I am not an auto park fan but I just wouldn't use it since I would have a manual. Not sure if that works with a manual or not. Also, the rear brembos would be awesome. Please let it be! And painted red or yellow! I know I know, I always want more! Thats what makes me an American consumer! I just hope this thing stays in the 40s and doesn't creep into the 50s. In the 50s I can buy a nice cts-v wagon!

The features keep getting better...but now I am really beginning to wonder how much of a price increase we will see. If the price before taxes crosses $50K then this does really start to get into the price bracket of some other compelling cars.

Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president, Chevrolet: “And by the way: BMW is the top non-GM-brand trade-in from SS customers.”

Ha! Who says that BMW owners are dummies?

If you look at the order guide it does not show rear Brembos.
I'm not familiar with order guides, but if rear Brembos are standard and not optional, would they still show up on the order guide?

Brembo makes Aftermarket Brake Rotors and Calipers so if you wish to switch out your back brake with them they are not to costly to do. So even if the 2015 does not come with the Brembo they could be switched out.

I was thinking of doing that with my SS not really because of any performance issues but I'm A.D.D. at times and want the fronts to match the backs!

It will be a nice addition IF it turns out to be correct--order guide or media press release conflicting or not.

Interesting the manner in which (2015) Camaro presents the SS Brembo fitment:

Chevrolet News - United States - Camaro

"Four-wheel disc brakes are standard on all models – including Brembo four-piston calipers on SS" (my point being that it does not state "front & rear", but that can be inferred)--and we already know it's been a 4-wheel deal since introduction in 2010.

So, regardless of what transpires, the question I have is IF Brembo calipers are fitted on the SS sedan's rear (along with a larger rotor, I am assuming), will the park brake shoe still be the same as 2014, or will it upsize to what Camaro uses?

I'm hoping that park brake remains same size as 2014, which would make backfit easier and less costly.

Does anyone have any inside contact at Brembo OEM (in Oz) to get a straight answer? Has anyone looked at what the Holden SS-V is going to get, other than the Lowndes limited-production model? It seems more than likely that Holden wouldn't spec such a small run of Brembo rear calipers & upsize rotors unless they were going to leverage that, from a cost standpoint, by using it on other variants of VF, including 2015 SS.

Bill, it has been stated here in Australia that the VF Series II SSV Redline will actually have the 6.2ltr LS3 engine that you already have in your Chevy SS, producing around 309kw. It will also have TPMS, and paddle shifters for auto models. There is speculation that MRC will be in the vehicle too, but it remains to be seen in OZ as currently only HSV run this system. It has been stated that this vehicle will have 4p Brembo's all round too. I think you will find the Craig Lowndes Edition of 161 will be the "test vehicles" for this. I don't believe Holden will go up to the Camaro handbrake but I stand to be corrected. I say this as we have other Commodore models here which means they would nearly have to do this for all other Commodore models and in this day and age of financial budgets I don't think the "bean counters" would allow it.
There is no such Brembo Oz, only an approved importer and distributor called Link International as far as I'm aware (please don't hold me to that as it may have changed recently)

We'll just have to wait to see what comes with the 2015 SS. I agree that there will NOT be a move (actually a regression) to Camaro handbrake--my point there is that the electronic park brake on VF has not made it's way to Camaro in it's current guise (Zeta), and the current VF park brake would hopefully remain as far as the diameter of the brake shoe, thus rotor design (as in DBA 42031, which is smaller than Camaro park brake)--not a matter of the actuation method.

I mean good Lord it's like Christmas up in here ever since I joined this message board!

Next thing I know I'm gonna wake up one morning and find out that GM is gonna start offering the SS in numerous cheaper and more spartan trim packages at reduced cost, start selling a wagon version here, and that they've decided to hunt down and re-capture all the lost Holden engineers and rename the whole brand Pontiac and have them take over all operations and turn the brand into a strong performance import company for the US!

Really, the news of the 2015 SS changes has been just one great turn after another. It's like the opposite of real life.

The best thing about being a pessimist is that 1% of the time you get pleasantly surprised!
