I have owned this car since October 2016. I live in Pittsburgh PA and I have got challenged by 3 types of vehicles.

Subaru's

Diesel pickups...don't ask... I have no idea why... I think maybe because diesel guys dont like getting passed by a family sedan. Three separate times guys have tried to roll coal on me. These are mostly young guys with pre DEF diesels that are tuned.

And for some reason everyone in a Infiniti goes full Lewis Hamilton when they're around me (or me around them).

I have to die hard Subaru friends and I never met a a** hole in a Subie but I am surprised when one rolls up next to me and launches. I'm surprised because I assume Subie drivers aren't interested in SS's and don't know what it is. I know, I'm stereotyping.

After SEVERAL times pulling away from Inifiniti's I gotta admit, I have developed a dislike for Infiniti guys. Lol. I just have seen a lot of stupid driving from Infiniti owners when they get around me and most of them never let up they just keep on wanting to race. So now I don't even pull away I actually just try to hang back. Not trying to get a ticket or wreck going 24 hours of Le Mans on my way to Cheesecake Factory.

I noticed Camaro drivers around me are pretty chill and after a hard pull the Subaru drivers get pretty chill too. Everyone else usually just is interested in trying to figure out what it is or yelling questions at me.

But what kind of cars do y'all see challenging or trying to challenge y'all at the red light and on the highways?

*dislcaimer... I'm not perfoming or condoning street racing, breaking any traffic laws or putting anyone's safety at risk.

I was tried by a monte carlo the other day. It was funny cause it sped passed me and I decided to give him a show. So I got up to 110 flew by him and next I know he got on my ass #nohomo til I turned of the highway

That's always the downfall of passing someone. The chance that they'll get behind you and drive like a d***, risking them rear ending you. If someone ego is in check they won't do this but there's a lot of guys out there that'll get butt hurt real quick cause a ImpalaBlu just passed them and they'll do this.

Well, at my age nobody even tries. It's funny because when I was young, I never thought I would be old. I always thought that happens to somebody else.

A couple of Dodges an R/T Charger and an R/T Magnum, I put them both away.
I, too, couldn't imagine myself as an Ol'dude, but, here I am. My buddy, who is 63, this year, races everybody in his Genesis 5.0 Rspec and tells me about it all the time, but has not said anything to me about if he thought that he could beat me or not. Maybe he ran another SS and knows the answer.

Only car I had try and play was a ricer with a now forgotten dial-in on the window, spooled it up and hammered it right along side me, in traffic in a 45mph zone right after a stoplight neither of us was first at while I had two kids in carseats in back.......needless to say I didn't respond.
Nobody notices it, and I like it that way.

I remember test driving that thing, and it was powerful. The front end felt heavy to me and somewhat unstable. A true classic to say the least. During that period I had four different Volkswagens in a row. Never again, after VW started watering them down year after year.

Sidebar: Then again if it weren't for them, I wouldn't be here. It was the 2013 TDI (DieselGate) that they had to buy back from me after 3.5 years whereby they practically paid close to what I paid for it.

Mostly hot hatches are the ones that want some. It never goes well for them.

I had an E60 M5 that got feisty too. It was pretty even when we were both relatively low in the powerband. After that I couldn't hang.

I was at a red light and on my right (was making a left to get onto the highway) was a Bentley Continental GT Speed, longest coupe on the planet. Lol. The driver rolled down the window and asked all the familiar questions and then he said "It sounds good what's under the hood" I replied a 6.2 V8 and he said "Holy ****" lol. I was suprised that he was impressed by it.

Anyway both turning lanes led to the on ramp and he let me in front of him. My girlfriend said "Hey your car is faster than his"... I just laughed and said no no no. While we merged onto the parkway a F10 M5 was in the center lane and I don't know if it was the Bentley or the SS that triggered him but it was game on. The F10 M5 took off like a bat out of ****, I thought I knew what fast was then I saw a F10 M5 take off from 60 mph. Then the Bentley took off... I thought I knew what fast was then I saw a Bentley GT Speed take off from 60 mph. I tried to keep up but let off at 100 mph. I literally lost sight of the Bentley. The M5 was cooking but the Bentley is a magnitude of speed one has to see to believe.

Diesel pickups, just about every one on the road burning coal either

I've test-driven some late model turbo diesel utes and understand why, 0-60 all torque. Priceless moment is when it is clear our torque curve lasts 3x longer and gearing is on our side, then HP kicks in...

I've embarrassed a bunch of cars with my diesel pick up.

I've never had anyone want to race me in the SS though.

My list is endless but I blame it mostly on the fact that fake men do not like to see a real woman driving a beast of a car past them. The worst tailgaters I've experienced are women but not because I pass them but because they are running late and devoid of road manners. I've gotten into it with Jeeps, Acuras, Hondas, Subarus, modded up whining I don't know whats. It is almost embarrassing to share and impossible to generalize. On the positive side I have never been challenged by a Mustang and I've seen and heard some nice ones lately. Maybe they know they are out gunned, maybe they are just decent people, makes me want to test drive a GT--NOT!

Nissan 370Z and a Chevy TRUCK!!!!!! Don't know if it was a diesel or not, i never saw anything but the grill in my rearview mirror :D
The Nissan tried as soon as they saw me going for the upcoming beltway on-ramp. I have yet to hit the first break in period but i gave it enough gas to dominate who got to the on-ramp first! :D Got from about 30mph to 65 super fast lol. Then, (bell in my head says stop) for i only had 300ish miles on it so far.

IT was the hardest thing to not just HIT THAT GAS and throw them gears.

UGH, just another 100 miles and i will have hit the first break in period.

YES, i am that guy that follows the manual, no hate plz :D

No one, officially. If they try to pull on me, so be it. I just let them. Then, I stay on them to see how big their balls are. Today, it was some dude in an ecoboost Escape. Pulled on me from a dig to switch into my lane (a turning lane). So, I just let him. Then I stayed on him, and he floored it to like 65MPH in a 40 zone like he had something to prove. In a compact economy SUV. I kept up with him in 5th gear lol. He then cut over two lanes to turn onto a highway. Weird.

Different car but years ago I was going down the highway in my heads/cam LT1 Caprice when a at that time newer I think Maxima lunged a few times and then I gave him two runs and completely blew him away from 65-90mph, he pulled up along side, rolled down the window presumably to see what the heck just happened..........and my exit came up so I left him wondering. It was an 11 second car and nobody saw that coming.

Video of a 11.6 run with audio of a shocked spectator.

Only have 170 miles on the car and that was on the drive home from the long journey back from the dealership. Anyway, had a Black Dodge Charger tailgating me on the way home. We kinda dropped the hammer a little and then we see him blip the undercover lights behind the grille and beside the rearview interior mirror! Promptly slowed way down and he passed us and drove out of sight.

BMW 335i's and diesel trucks. For the BMW, I assume he was stock because the that was easy. Those trucks can be tricky, but most are all show no go.

I've had just a few non-SS Camaros which didn't work out in their favor. I don't really entertain racing as its just disrespectful to others on the road and I simply would be embarrassed to say I got a speeding ticket while I was flexing. If someone pulls up next to me and their window drops I don't even acknowledge them. I honestly like to just go out in the country and find places with lots of curves and the ability to see any potential speed traps.

Same here. Plus, speeding laws in Virginia are a little strict. Anything 20 mph over speed limit or anything over 80 (regardless of limit) is automatically a misdemeanor reckless driving charge.

If I got caught doing one of the above while I was playing with another car - that could subjectively be seen as street racing by the LEO - I'd lose my license for a while. Not worth it.

Took down my first mark last night. Was a debadged Audi, slammed and had custom exhaust. Pretty sure it was an S6; it was definitely bigger than an S4.

I think he heard my rumble after I passed a car because he pulled in right on my tail, strutted a bit, and proceeded to pass pretty aggressively on my left. I was coming up on a car in front of me so I passed it on the right, I was in fourth and wasn't pushing it that hard. I heard his turbos spin up as he took off and boy were they loud. He pulled ahead by 7-8 car lengths in a pretty impressive fashion and then slowed until I caught up beside him.

I was sure I was going to get throttled, but there were clear roads ahead so I figure what the ****. We both hit it after slowing to about a 50 roll. I nail the downshift to third and immediately pull out ahead (yay me, manual n00b). His screaming turbos remind me it won't last long, but to my surprise I continue to slowly build the gap. I get a nice boost as I shift to fourth; at this point he's towards my flank, probably not a full length but I like to think he's staring over at the Lion pondering life. My speed warning chimes up so I let off, he goes flying by.

I'm just cruising around and that's enough fun for one night, so I signal for the next exit to turn around and head home. He slows down and follows me off the exit. At the next light he pulls up next to me, huge grin on his face, giving me the thumbs up. I roll down my window and he says "What is it?". I tell him it's a Holden badged Chevy SS. He says "ah yeah, Holden! Awesome car!".

We give a wave and I pull off. Wide ass grin on my face since! Love this car. Can't wait to really unleash it in a better environment.

Always chargers. I'm convinced everyone in Illinois with a charger RT has something to prove. Not even an SRT 8. Just a bunch or RTs. And they suck so much. Looks like a fuckin tank

There's many current and former Subaru owners on the boards, myself included! :smile
