Anyone know if, when ordering the conversion kit for the front grill and rear deck emblem I also need to order a grill surround?
If you're staying with chrome, No. The Holden emblem kit package comes with an upper chrome grill surround.

So the Camaro and Volt have very similar looking steering wheels, with the badge attachment identical to the SS.
I looked up some photos of the Volt, and it looks like the badge has like 6 pins or clips on the back, which means it wouldn't be a good idea to attempt to remove.
For the Camaro the only thing I've seen is pics of the RS or SS badge removed from the 6 o clock position so that's no help.

Has anyone else tried to remove the Chevy badge from the airbag? Anyone? Plan B is to just black it out.

User on Facebook posted a picture of the back of the airbag cover. Removal of the emblem is not an option. There’s about clips that will break and it will look like crap. There’s also a risk of cracking the cover in the removal process, in the area where it’s designed to separate and allow the airbag to exit.

So it looks like I’m just going to use vinyl blackout to make it blend in.

I used plastic dip on my badge for about a week. It's much better, but in the end I just couldn't stand looking at it and bought an Holden airbag. (Much cheaper back then too).

GMPartsDirect customer service

I got mine from GMPartsDirect for $198 and it included the surround (grille, badge, surround piece, rear badge, some random clips)
I ordered from GMPartsDirect too and they arrived but the front badge was missing, I called twice and had to leave messages, and emailed twice and no one has gotten back to me. Really annoyed.

I have an appointment set for next Saturday to have everything installed, front grill, rear badge, DRL bezels and VF series II badge. I'm worried that I won't get front badge in time.

Is it simply just snapping it onto the badge silhouette? Something I can do myself.

I just picked up the interior black out kit at a dealership in Brisbane and wanted to see how much I saved and noticed most of the GM parts websites only have the black mylink surround available are the other parts drying up on our side of the pond? Have the part numbers been updated from the ones in the first post of this thread?

With the benefit of the exchange rate I got everything for $194 USD when I priced out everything year without shipping it was around $250 from the various gm parts websites.

If those parts are getting hard to find or there is something else on the smaller side you want I can pass along the parts guys information. This dealership had a decent amount of 1:18 scale diecast in race and street trim for sale as well.

Question about exterior blackout parts. Are they ALL painted Phantom Black? I’ve found that there are 2 parts for the 2016+ DRL surrounds from Australian suppliers. One is cheaper and listed as “gloss black plastic” and the other is “painted Phantom Black.”

The part number listed at the beginning of this thread is for the unpainted gloss black ones. Someone who has the part, is yours actually Phantom Black or just gloss plastic? And where did you get them? Thanks.

EDIT: I talked with Karo at HoldenPartsUSA and confirmed all the parts in the kit are painted Phantom Black.

I put the SSV badge on the lower right on my 2015 for one reason - when I took off the SS badge, it required a lot of work to clean off the surface and I still couldn't get it perfect. So I put the SSV badge over that spot.

About the only Holden item I have is the rear bonnet cargo tray.....I'm liking the Holden logo on it which is dead center...I have a lot to go to make my SS worthy
If there is an LS3 under the hood, the heavy lifting is done, the rest is window dressing 👍

So I was scouring the interwebs in search of a part for a fellow member and came across this. It would seem to me to be one more piece to add to the Holden conversion, and perhaps quite the conversation starter with passengers. Has anybody that's done the conversion swapped this piece out? The sport mode would of course be the wrong direction for the SS, but correct for the Commodore, and that seems to be the point. So who's first?;)
