Looks like you need to remove the long black trim piece (bordering the hazard switch) then there are two screws at the bottom and clips around the sides and top. Found this picture

Awesome thank you. And looking at my parts screen it looks like the bezel only comes with the whole radio cluster so it's not something you want to break. A new one retails for about $600.

Interestingly, each year is different and the 2016 shows three different colors available. Black, Galvano Silver, or Graphite Silver.

GM parts shows 3 different bezels in these colors, also they do fit 2014-2016

92272840 -- Galvano Silver -- $195.31 GM retail
92272839 -- Jade Black -- $108.08 GM retail
92272841 -- Graphite Silver -- $117.32 GM retail

What is Galvano silver? Which us OEM? Love to see photos of the options. Graphite silver seems like it would be more gray like slate.

By my VIN, mine show the Galvano Silver as the factory color. (looked at the other trim pieces that run from radio to shifter.) I do not know what the Graphite Silver looks like and well the black is pretty self explanatory. If you want to send me the last 8 of your VIN I'll decode it and see what yours shows. (betting the same as mine)

My guess is the Graphite silver is in the Caprice PPV.

Does this mean the Jade black can be sourced here?

I tried searching online parts stores and could only find the assemble as a complete surround as someone else mentioned. I will ask my parts guy at the local dealer.

Jade black has stock available from GM in Lansing, MI. Any dealer should be able to order. Would take mine 2-3 days to get unless overnighted.

Great. Can the shifter panel bezels and steering wheel trim also be sourced in jade black?
No sir, not by my GM catalog. For some reason GM only shows the trim around the radio to be in black.

PS - sorry for the thread high jacking....love the mod and will be doing this one also as far as the carbon fiber.

Good to know. My database (CCC) doesn't show the bezel separately, only the bezel/radio controls as one piece available in 3 different colors. Thanks for the clarification. That would also explain why mine shows each year with a different part number, due to small changes in the actual control panel and not the bezel.

Sorry I haven't replied in a while. I was busy prepping the car for a few shows.. I bought this tool set from Harbor Freight to remove the trim pieces. Also to answer another question from this thread, yes the steering wheel trim was removed and wrapped as well. You have to remove the airbag, however it is pretty simple to do.

I've got that same set - nice for what it is. They've also had trim removal pliers at times & those are nice to have when needed... which I think is Harbor Freights motto ;)

Your work with 3M di-noc carbon looks awesome! 3M di-noc is great to work with & looks so good when done right - and you knocked it out of the park here - awesome!

Any thoughts of wrapping the gloss black / chrome strip that runs on both front doors & across the dash? I know the dash bits remove pretty easily, as I accidentally removed one myself... which immediately got me thinking about wrapping it - lol.

Thing is, I could never figure out if its best to form the di-noc around the gloss black parts & leave chrome exposed - as you've done with your wheel wrap & which would also tie into other chrome bits throughout the dash area. Or... just wrap the entire strip, chrome & all, in di-noc. Very interested in what you'd do, or plan to do.

Your work here is awesome - thank you! I know its not easy to get into many of those areas, but you did it & did it well. Makes me want to jump in & start mine now!

Congrats!

I didn't want to get carried away with the faux carbon fiber. I only did the pieces that were done originally in the brushed aluminum look, leaving all chrome and glass black pieces as they are. The manufacture originally went with 3 different colors (gloss black, chrome and brushed aluminum) so i thought it was best to leave 3 colors just replacing the brushed aluminum (because it was very reflective).

I did the 2 pieces next to the shifter yesterday just to test it out before going through the hassle of removing the touch screen surround and the steering wheel trim and it was a lot easier than I was expecting. The 3M CF vinyl works very well and heats easily when needed with a heat gun. It looks great when done.

A small word of warning on removing those pieces. You have to start at the front and pull back toward the rear of the car. The bottom clips are parallel to the ground. If you pull up on the back (rear) part of the trim, it will brake the tabs off. Start at the top of the front with a hook style trim removal tool and pull back towards the back of the car. the front will pop out. Then just grab it with your finger tips and continue to pull back towards the back of the car and work your hands back. It'll pop right out. Once it's free just pull it up and out.

Good tip on the console trim, thanks. I bought 3M satin black to offset the chrome and jade black, plan to do mine in a couple weeks when I have extra time off work. Start with the console trim and see how it goes from there since that's really where I get reflection from when the sunroof is open.

I did the same wrap with the 3M DiNoc carbon fiber looking vinyl on my BMW. It didn't really look that great when I finished it. I had a hard time getting it to wrap around corners and over curved or depressed areas. I did not have a heat gun and used a blow dryer. I think that was probably the problem.

If you are using the heat guy, do you have to worry about melting the vinyl or stretching it too thin and tearing it?

Thanks

Well, not really Carbon Fiber....... 3M faux Carbon fiber wrap. The chrome/brushed aluminum pieces would blind me if the sun hit them at the right angle as others have also complained about. I had originally thought about wrapping them with matte black vinyl, but I did a test piece and it just didn't look right. So I went the route of wrapping them in 3m CarbonFiber Wrap. I bought. 12" X 60" piece off of a vendor in Amazon. I pulled all of the panels out of the car and carefully (with the help of my trusty heat gun) went at it. I turned out better than expected. The wrap laid down without a single wrinkle, crease, or air bubble. (Sorry for only posting 1 pic per reply. My iPhone, won't let me post multiple pics in a single reply). Here are some photos of the project. I didn't go overboard, I just did the aluminum looking pieces, leaving the small chrome trim. I also did the top of the shifter, which turned out really nice as well.
How did you go about removing the top of the shifter? Also, got any advice for dealing with some of the sharp and even rounded corners on the radio surround? I tore my sheet in one place and the corners are coming undone a bit up near the vents.

Yes, this!
How did you get the shift top?
Anyone wrap the seat chrome inserts?
