I would never replace a 1/4 because of that.

I had a substantially worse incident with a 1/4 on my old truck [not my fault]

It was messed up and I still did not want a 1/4 R&R, it became a mess with corrosion.

100% repairable with very little work. If they will take care of it, I would go with that and maybe try to get some parts/discounts and call it a day. And then never go back.
I agree that this looks easily repaired having worked in a body shop for a while. Also, if they take care of it and it is not reported to the police or the insurance companies, it will probably not show up on CarFAX and the car will not suffer diminished value.

Good luck!

Read again, comprehend.
Notice the words "may" in there. ;).......
The gentleman had already posted that there was "no reason" for a 'test drive'.

Seems you have a problem with comprehension :serious

This happened to me, very similar damage in (I believe) a parking lot. Didn't notice it until the weekend when I was washing the car back in October. Was there a note? Not a chance...people really suck! Needless to say I was really pissed. If you look closely, you can see that the paint was rubbed from low on the bumper skin all the way up the wheel arch on the metal. Fortunately, no metal was bent. Took it to a high end body shop and they did a beautiful job buffing out the damage and blending the paint without taking off the bumper skin. I was very apprehensive due to the difficulty in matching metallic paint, but I can not tell it was ever damaged. Provided the dealer has a reasonably skilled body shop, I suspect they will make this good and I think the OP will be pressing his luck in trying to get the dealer to pay for the ceramic treatment.

I don't think he is pressing his luck for the ceramic coating, it was coated when they damaged it. To make it right, that has to be included, although it will have to wait a while for the new paint to completely cure before it can be applied.

LOL
Once again, hence I put "may"
He stated "for which there is no reason" but didn't specify.
Unless he's a tech himself or specified what the reason was for the diagnostic test, you don't know if they found something that MAY have required a short test drive.

So as I said, you are a C in an A and B conversation and clearly are making unwanted and unneeded comments for which YOU are speculating. You're comments are worthless for his issue, and I sure as heck don't need your uneducated responses trying to tell me something for which you know not.
So comprehend that.

Thought I posted the reason previously but I was in for the radio code as I never got the battery maintenance code when received the car. No reason for a "test drive" for that...plus they told me that there wasn't one for the 2015 models (which I'm doubting is true).

Agreed.....I missed that part about the car already having the ceramic treatment. :smile

It's all good.
I was offering up an alternative as to the 3 mile test drive.
To me it doesn't seem out of the ordinary for a diagnostic test that if they found something not fully correct that it may require a short test drive to evaluate. Again, the reason I said they "may" have needed too. You didn't put the reason for the diagnostic test in your original post. That guy responding with a bunch of "see this is why" BS was just crap acting like a useless, and unneeded Jackhole.

Hope you are getting it all resolved.
