3.5” Duals – who has them?

I’m planning to add some dual exhaust tips to my SS, but I want to go with dual 3.5” rather than the staggered 3” duals that many have installed. It seems like Red Tail does not offer a staggered 3.5” dual, I’m wondering how a non-staggered setup would look. Anybody installed this style and could share a picture or opinion? My car is black, so I will probably get the black coated ones if I go with this.

Thanks!

Thanks, those tips look good but what concerns me about them are the length and width. I think the length could be dealt with by modifying the muffler support back a bit, but the width will only allow about 1/4" clearance on the sides. It would probably look amazing but I have a bit of a concern with overheating the plastic valance. The red tail non-staggered duals are 7" wide so this would give a decent amount of clearance.

If someone had installed these on a SS and its working out I'd like to know the details because these are a great choice cosmetically!

I don't remember the measurement, but I did measure to see if they fit and there was enough clearance for me to be comfortable with the 3.5s, I just haven't gotten around to getting them yet.

Actually, I think there is more clearance than I have on the trans am, and I haven't had any problem with it even with the car being wrapped.

SS muffler exit on 2014/15 is 2.25", not sure on 2016 but there you have NPP with dual tips anyways.

Here's what the RedTail 035's looked like on my OE mufflers. While only 3" they looked like they belonged on the car and the quality was first rate. Really liked their dual cone look. I ended up installed Borla S-type mufflers, love the deeper tone, but their tips are just nothing special slash cuts.

So, stupid question, but does this mean that the 3" inlet to 3 1/2 " outlet dual tips shown on their site won't fit the SS stock set up?

I've got Solo AxleBack. They have 3" outlet like the Red Tails I had on previously(Red Tails are beautiful tips btw). I want to try the 3 1/2 " to better visually fill the diffuser opening. At 2 1/2 " they should slide on and clamp just like the Solo tips. Sounds like if they are mounted correctly, and if one is not racing/tracking the vehicle, heating of the diffuser side plastic is not a big issue.

Disregard above question, please. Found answer. They are actually 2 1/2" - 3 1/2"

Solid info, Blushirt 35. Thanks.

That was in reference to my Solo Axle Back set up. The quad tips clamp to the outlet tube by design.
