I still wish they would just rebadge an HSV and bring it over. It must end up being too expensive and wouldn't sell well because of it.

These are awesome cars. From the looks of the VF so far, I still prefer the VE styling.

For me, the VE HSV series 2 is a bit overstyled. I prefered the Series 1 HSV.

I just hope that they don't screw this up and only give us the 6.0 that came in the GT and in the current Caprice. But that's just me being pesimistic and negative. The SS should AT LEAST come with the LS3 and we can all hope for the LT1 or something even greater....maybe a LSA? Hopefully we will find out on Saturday and they don't just say "here it is, we will discuss engines later, race on!"

That particular HSV is the GTS and nudges 95k here in Oz but it has the LS3, MRC and some tech goodies on the iQ screen plus ditches the factory seats for there own design and extra pod guages, Massive stoppers that pull it up quicker than a Lambo Murcielago from 100kmh (60mph i think).
I would shudder to think what it would be worth but I would guess somewhere in the high 60's US. It is a far mentaler beast than the SRT Charger and 300 and comes as a manual if you are prepared to wait.
My mate has the E1 Senator which is the luxury specced version of this and he putters around town and gets very decent economy. Much better than the official fuel economy guide states.

Yep, lots here think the E2 & E3 are overdone. "Busy" is a good description. But then again, I wasn't that fussed on the G8 front, especially the fake hood vents, but it's all personal tastes anyway.

You get (or got) the LS3 in the GXP, so you only missed out on brakes and suspension (being the major differences) to an HSV.

With the new Chevrolet SS, I think you'll still get two engine levels once again, but probably not any HSV variants or "parts" (apart from the LS3 which is a GM component in any case).

Don't forget, Walkinshaw owns a majority share of HSV, with the remainder Holden owned, so any HSV bits are not straight profit to Holden / GM - they have to share it with Walkinshaw :)

It looks like they ripped off BMW, Audi & Mercedes of their exterior design features and slapped it on a holden. could be much more simple and more merican
Hmmm, I guess I don't see any BMW, Audi or MB influence in the HSV at all. Just looks like an ultra aggressive commodore to me.

Curious as to what you consider a more simple, American style that's better looking. And I'm not trying to be a dick or anything, I'm seriously asking. I'm trying to think of one and I can't.

Seems like your typical euopean looking sedan to me..... I believe they did a good job at not trying to copy anyone and stay original. It's tough to do that when there are so many designs out.

Even when trying to be unique, I bet they unintentionally copy other designs and features in those designs.

If the spy pics of the model that was running around in the US are any indication, the SS will only get front Brembo 4 piston brakes, just like the GXP.
I'd wait for the photos on Saturday. There is technically nothing wrong with the Brembo 4 pistons if they offer proper duct cooling and proper brake pads.
