Im trying to time a March/April purchase and was wondering if anyone knows when the next SS shipment is scheduled to depart down under or arrive here?

You and me both! The order cut off per GM Cust Service is next week likely Friday. The plant shutdown is December 20 - Jan 6th. I should have my order number today and once I have that will network with some GM folks to find the target production week. From that I can back into a projected arrival time here in Michigan.

I will confirm by sighting in the next 24 ours. The ship should be docking in the next several hours to pick up the next load from Port Adelaide.
I believe that the Bosporus Highway will have a large increased production shipment when it heads to Japan this weekend. Then, if my cards fall correctly, the Kentucky Highway will pick up a short run (two weeks production) by the summer shut down time, Dec. 20. After that, who knows???

Been reading alot about the plant shutdown on December 20, and the cutoff to order is next Friday. I'm going to place my order tomorrow, does that mean they'll make it before December 20 or will they still be producing 2014s after Jan 6? Confused for sure.

Doubt the order will get picked up by the plant in time to produce by the 20th. The dealer must have allocation first, then the order needs to be picked up by the marketing team, then it goes through VOMS and POMS (vehicle order management system and production order management system) then allocated to the plant based on production mix of which the SS is one model of the however many they build..... Whew... long sentence. My plan/hope is my order gets picked up system wise in the next week and gets scheduled for production in late January. I'd really like to see it here in May of next year. My guess is the 2015 model will not start until the summer months here.

Shut down and order cut off are two distinct events in the life of the SS. Cut off simply means the end of accepting orders for the current model year. For domestic US production this is normally mid-May timeframe. Since our beautiful SS is built in Australia many other factors come into play with the extended inbound/outbound logistics for material and finished vehicles.

So far it seems like they will be doing it, still no way to tell until that time comes or some official info right from Chevy.
My confidential sources say 2015, 2016 and a partial 2017 model year..... with few changes other than MT and MRC and new colors....

... and of course a hefty price increase each model year if GM's past pricing policies are indicative of future pricing!

The price increase is one of my reasons for ordering a 2014. The very same Camaro I bought in 2010 is about $5K more right now as a 2014. I can get my clutch "on" with my Camaro and can live with the A6 in the SS. I also don't expect GM to give away the manual trans or mag ride on the 2015.

Mee too!

That and possible 'decontenting'.

My 2007 Yukon MSRP was 40K. My 2011 was $45250. Built a 2014 and it was $49900. ALL THE SAME (except for the back up camera on the '11 and '14).

That HSA has made people sell their brand new manuals its so bad!
You know about the "fix" for the HSA ones I hope but I have not been keeping up with whether it works on the '14s.

Wow.

totally overlooked this little tidbit of information in my calculations...
