So if you order the spare wheel&tire. What size wheel do you get and can it be used on both the front and the rear??

I know its probably a stupid question.......

Thanks all,

Jared
It is a matching front wheel, tire with TPMS.

It is for "temporary" use on rear; all time on front since it's matching.

Best value ever a must order because the list on the wheel is $1K plus the TPMS and plus tire! = about $1400 if you pay retail to replace later!

I'm certain that the price will not stay that high. Good thing the Garff group own a chev store too ;-)
The price will stay that high from the dealers but private sellers will be selling their used ones for much less. G8 factory wheels are just as expensive from GM but you can find used G8 GT and GXP wheels for waaaay less than what the dealers are charging new ones.

The market for used SS wheels is pretty limited to the G8 and SS guys really. The SS guys usually already have a set and the G8 guys don't appear to be slobbering over the new SS wheels from what I can tell so far.

They should have gave you the option at pickup. I had the option 3-4 months to get the spare.

F & R are same price, $995 List & $597 Dealer Cost. $50 core charge if a wheel is not turned in at purchase. Front available rear not available as of 2 weeks ago.

+TPMS kit I'll have to do the $ and availability tomorrow.

Tire Rack Tire Price Front $362 Rear $349.

Anybody that drops 50 LARGE on a car then replaces the wheels and tires isn't going to need to sell the factory wheels and tires cheap because they need the money.

Just like the Gas thread ... if you can't afford to pay you shouldn't play.

Even though I have always liked the old school look of steel wheels and baby moons with (or without) trim rings yeah they would look great on a PPV.

I know it's not going to happen but IF they put the Brembos on the PPV and made a steel wheel to clear them I'd snap up a set in a heartbeat!

Very true...but I gotta ask how many of you are out there? The rumor was that less than 20 or so civilians were lucky enough to score one.

Oh, it's a bit more than that, but you are correct that it is a fairly small group.

GM's recent release from bondage (lifting the restriction on sale of PPV's to fleet/law enforcement only) of the remaining 2011 (and possibly 2012) Caprice inventory has helped increase civilian ownership, but there is no official record, and the New Caprice website (New Caprice - Discussion forums • Index page) hasn't captured everyone who has a PPV.

There have been a number of ways we managed to buy these cars, with only a very few, relatively speaking, purchased as actual new, never sold, vehicles.

My 2011 PPV was purchased as "used", with 23 miles on the odometer when I first test-drove it, closing the deal less than 2 weeks later. That was Nov 2012, but the warranty was activated on July 30, 2012. A 3rd-party paperwork ownership transfer turned it into a used car so the dealer was then able to offer it up to all comers. I was just one of the lucky ones!

I think the last I checked, there are 77 people signed up to New Caprice, and not nearly all of them actually have a PPV.
