What i'm driving now

thought i may as well post up what i'm currently driving... these are employee lease cars so no modifying, just fill up with petrol and drive, but thought some of you guys might like to see some slightly different variants to the SS.

Just gave back the VE SV6 Z-Series. Absolutely one of my favourite variants of the VE model. The leather/fabric combo seats were the best mix of comfort, durability and butt-hugging. Extra chrome exterior highlights and machined face/charcoal painted 19" wheels really matched the white paint. Almost was sad to see this one go.

And now... The VF SV6 Sportwagon. Drives like a completely different car. Only had this one just a few days and it is already noticeably smoother, quieter and more refined than the VE.

I'm not a huge fan of the 18" wheels, if i ever purchased one i'd have to upgrade to 19's instantly. Other than that i can't fault the exterior. I kinda wish they changed the rear end a little from the VE, but as with other generational upgrades in the Commodore range, Ute and wagon generally remain untouched.

Nice!
My father has a BR-spec VE Commodore (a mix between Berlina and Calais) and man, do I hate that steering wheel. After the VT and the VZ, I just couldn't find where to rest the thumbs comfortably. Thankfully, the VF one is nice and bolstered, plenty of spots for a comfortable grip.
I'm not sold on those SV6 rims either to be honest. They give the appearance of being heavy in my view.
I do like the 20's that they put on the Jungle Fever sedan I looked at a while back

Yeah I found the VE wheel a bit large and cumbersome, especially when things get a bit tight and twisty, the VF wheel is a massive improvement.

What dealership was that? I noticed Steinborner Gawler have sold theirs now. It's a shame none of those Jungle Fever cars were built as SSV or Redline, would have loved to see one with the black wheels.

Impressed with how much the wagon can carry with the seat split-fold still managed to remain a 3 seater and easily swallow an Ikea double bed flat-pack. Used the trailer to move my old spare queen size bed, while fully loaded still averaged around 10L/100km (24mpg)

Hopefully my next car, sometime in the next 12 months or so. I am with you on the wheels though - they look like something aftermarket you would see on a Mitsubishi Magna.

Colors

I have to say Holden has the Baddest colors ever. That's my only real complaint about the SS. I really wanted the Blue like the original Nascar pace cars. iN THE g8gxp I'm told that the most sought after color. Only slightly under 200 ever produced in for the US. Hope Chevy adds some variety in the next couple years

Worked it out - they look like the 380 VRX wheels ...

Yeah they were horrible flat looking things. Especially after the masterpiece the TJ VRX wheels were.

The VF 18" wheels remind me of some BMW wheels but lose a lot of appeal with the shallow offset.

That was Metro's on Port Road. It didn't last very long and would have gone quicker had it even been just a plain SS. I've heard about a test colour that came through recently that was supposed to be reminicent of Sizzle but more orangey only got a code number no name but it sounded pretty decent

My brother would likely drool over that Magna, he has a Sports model and is longing for the Ralliart model they built.
