I have been looking to change the look of the bowtie on the grill and trunk. After seeing the thread earlier on someones vinyl overlay. I started doing some research and found this website.

They sell quite about 25 different colors and for $11 you get two sheets, one for front and one for back. Seemed like a good solution

Problem now is I don't know which color I wanted for my Phantom Black Metallic SS. I was initially thinking blue but may do black or black carbon fiber. Now I got multiple choices for each blue and black. Gloss, Flat/Matte, and Metallic.

What color combination would you do for your car?

those won't work. size is different. plus i would never buy from a place that says they are JDM when obviously they aren't. and then to top it off called JDM making Chevy stuff.

has anyone attempted to remove the gold center piece from the bowtie emblem and paint it seperate? After looking at it close up today I could tell that they arent put together all that well.

I ended up buying both front and rear bowties and had the body shop color match them..The front bowtie clips broke when removed and the rear bowtie double stick backing came off so good thing I had purchased new emblems..(the body shop advised to do it this way)..Also the Camaro bowties do not fit and completely different in design and size..

I Plasti dipped mine black, maybe other methods look better if you want them shiny but the black looks way better than gold and it was cheap and pretty easy to do. Can always peel it off and do something else whenever I want. Just a suggestion for those who want to do something but are afraid to commit to anything more permanent right now.

Black Bowtie

I recently took position of a Black SS Sedan. The the front and back bowties are black with a grained vinyl material. Is that just a protective covering the dealer did not take off or is it the way new Black SS come now? I am hesitant to try and take off because it looks permanent. Does anyone else have black bowties from factory ?

Nope, all gold from factory. Maybe a dealer add? Was it a dealer lot car?

Don't think it is a protective cover. Probably added by dealer to set the car apart. Hope they didn't charge you for that 'service'. Might want to give your papers a good look. Some are infamous for 'add-ons' so they can charge the customer. Hope you like them, but if not - hair dryer & careful peeling. :)

3M Carbon Fiber

I use 3M carbon fiber vinyl film. Make sure it's warm when you apply.

I bought the vinyl overlay material in silver, and then I had second thoughts. I bought silver spray paint and will mask the bowtie and do it that way. When I finally get around to doing it, I will post a few pictures.
