The vin# is not going to tell how many were produced.

Yes GM mixes the vin's usually with other cars on the same line.

This is just an example of a Vin.

I'd say your 933 may be the last 3 digits within the serial number, I believe the SS were done in batches of 50 a day as per Asylum.

All Holden, Toyota and Ford built products start with a 6 .

After doing some digging it does look like the SS VIN's are running in order but the cars are not built in order.

Example:

VIN - Roof - Color - spare - Buld date
EL929792 - YES - GHY - NO - 8/30/2013
EL929793 - YES - GIE - NO - 9/3/2013
EL929794 -YES - GHY - NO - 8/30/2013

z51vett question... I noticed that you said in past posts that you ordered your car last year? How is that possible when dealers didn't even have info nor did GM decide to even make the car yet? Never the less dealers even being able to enter in orders in the system until mid this year?

Sorry I just had to ask. I am not knocking what you are saying but a lot of your post collectively don't add up so I am just curious.

Agreed.

Just have to ask how you figured that out? Getting an order # has been difficult to say the least for a number of us. Just curious.
I actually have an order number the dealer gave it to me a few weeks ago.

I read a lot of auto mags and was ordering my 2013 Camaro SS and was talking to my friend of 23 years about the car. The general manager came by heard our conversation and provide me with the info 5 colors and one option sunroof I put down my deposit and had till preorder time to select color which turned out to be black hated all the other colors but red wife didn't not want a red sedan so. That's how being in the right place an talking to a General Manager who is on the dealer board with GM. I 've bought a lot of cars from these folks over the years and more from my friend at other dealerships he worked for.

Nope!!! these cars came down the assembly line with several other Holden lines at the same time. And we have not been able to figure it out.
