It's headed there (alpha platform), but i feel they have done great things with the current platform considering its size. The 1LE, ZL1, and the Z28 put down great numbers at the track for their weight. Can't wait to see what they do with a little less bulk.

Yeah O Kay. I sense your hate.

Dude, I owned multiple Camaros.
Stroker engines, forced induction, fully built, race suspensions, etc. etc.
Scott Settlemeir knows who I am and we are friendly.
It's not hate.
It's being an educated auto enthusiast and not a blind GM leg humper.
I am a GM fanatic, but I'm not blind or stupid.

None of that changes the fact that the 5th Gen Camaro was built on an overweight sedan chassis.
With that said, I will probably be one of the 1st to buy an Alpha based Camaro with a LT1/manual.
This is, unless the SS Sedan get's them first. :D

I was talking about only your hate of the fifth gen. Which is what this thread is about. The 5th gen Camaro has done better than any Camaro before. In sales, quality, racing, you name it. Just a great car, even though it is a "fat pig". I'm still on the fence on what I'm going to buy, but most likely it will include this SS for daily driving, and possibly a 1LE for some fun.

I'm not sure about your numbers.
Regardless, I couldn't care less what the sales numbers are.
The Mustang has always sold like hotcakes, and that car has always been a complete piece of $hit with a good motor and an incredible aftermarket.

For it's day, the 4th Gen Camaro was a much better car compared to it's competition.
I am hoping the 6th Gen Camaro proves to be the greatest pony car of all time and a M3 killer.

Apparently the 6th Generation Camaro will be the new Chevy coupe on a Cadillac ATS Chassis, right? If so it just might be the greatest pony car of all time.

old school camaro guys might hate it though cause I it might lose the V8 engine and be replaced by a turbo V6. Since nearly every car maker is trying to downside their engines. RIP V8

Yup. ATS chassis will basis for next Camaro.
The ATS chassis was designed to fit a LT1 from the start, so a V8 Camaro is coming......to my garage.

I'm going to go on a limb here and say the 6th gen will still have a V8. Most likely the LT1 I would assume.

The 6th Gen will be the best camaro ever made. I knew that before I bought my 5th gen. But I can't keep saying that. Eventually you got to buy. Otherwise you'll never get one.
