DJR Penske has all but wrapped up the championship with Scott McLaughlin. Bathurst is the finale this year, given the pandemic's impact on the season.

No US live TV coverage - VASC highlights are on Motor Trend TV (formerly Velocity), but Bathurst is going to be some weeks out from showing on the schedule.

Penske is bringing McLaughlin to the US to race in Indy Car - so funny to see him in a driver's uniform with a Chevy bowtie!

888 Commodore just crashed at Turn 3, up on the mountain - lap 33 - Whincup driving, they are out. Lowndes was co-driver. Passing where he should not have been trying to. Had climbed from 8th to 4th - bad move JW! Safety car - full field service & re-gather. Still had 128 laps to go.....DNF!

And what a show from #17 McLaughlin, burning up the track and the back of his car celebrating his championship win.

Vic is now down to single digits daily after 10 weeks of stage 4 lockdown but NSW are on the rise.

We watched the AFL semi final in Adelaide SA on Friday, Richmond def port Adelaide in a packed stadium, it really depends on what is happening locally if the gov can allow public attendance.

Our niece & family (her husband is AU citizen) have lived in Sydney for going on 10 years - my brother & his wife don't know when it's going to be possible to plan their next visit "down under", unless or until the threat subsides - and we (parents & uncle) are all of the age of greater vulnerability.

In the post-race celebrations & interviews, there were several comments made about the lack of fans, lack of having family near or present, being isolated for over 100 days (ie. no outside contact and heavy monitoring). The teams wore masks and then they didn't, which, considering the traveling circus nature of the VASC kept them away from contact with the outside for the most part, it was (apparently) a non-issue.

We do know that McLaughlin did travel to the US at some point during the season, so it has to be assumed he was put through some test/quarantine protocol to rejoin the team back in AU....and that's just one known example.
