In what situations do you use the paddle shifters?
The most common way I use them is in anticipation of wanting to
pass someone, normally downshift 2 gears (sometimes 3) to get the RPMs up to around 4000-5000.

Does anyone know a way to tell the car to revert back to "Drive" after using the paddle shifters? If the stick is in "Drive" and then I use the paddle shifters, the only way I know is to push the stick to "Sport" and then immediately back to "Drive".

When in drive the car will automatically start shifting itself if you haven't manually shifted for 7 seconds.

When in sport mode you have to hold upshift for several seconds - either the paddle or shifter works.

My issue is after 20 years of driving a manual, whenever I try and use the **** paddle shifters, I let off the gas and my left foot will try and hit a imaginary clutch pedal!!! :)
Just don't smash the brake pedal with your left foot when you hit the imaginary clutch.
With brakes like we have, you may be pulling your teeth out of the defroster vents!

I did that in my twenties :), still remember it to this day. I was at a barbeque with a buddy and he had too much to drink, insisted I drive his car. I told him I had never driven an automatic; didn't know how. I was used to 3 speeds on the column or floor shifters, learned on manual at 15. He kept insisting, said it was easy :). So, we headed down the street about 30, coming up to a stop sign at the end of the street, and I put my left foot to the floor, and that 3 speed on the column from 3rd to OOPS...
Well, he hit his head on the windshield, good size bump, his fault, I told him I didn't know how to drive one of these. He was worried about his transmission, I said not to worry, I had the clutch all the way in before shifting to 2nd, locking the wheels. "Oh, good" he said, wait, it's an automatic.:shithappens:
