First, don't have the key fob in your pocket with the car running when you get out. If you want to let it run, set the fob in the car and don't close the door all the way.
Next look for this in the forum, Annoying "Honk-Honk" and all you need is there!
It's not that EZ. Just one example checking the mail. So your saying there's no way to turn it off.

In the one time I went to the PO (I have it set to auto lock and delay lock with chirp/flash warning) I left (and will leave) fob in pocket, get out close door, car runs, walk away and chirps but be warned the door does NOT auto lock .... You MUST lock it with the fob button! I have to see what happens when you get into the running car without the fob ... but I gotta wait for Thursday for the warmer weather and the rain to wash away the salt from the 3"+ snow we had AGAIN!

To disable the warning:

With the car running, press Home on the center stack. Then select the "Config" app and navigate to "Vehicle Settings." From there look for the Remote Lock/Unlock/Start menu and select it, in there you want to disable the "Remote Left in Veh. Reminder."

Although that may not disable it when you are leaving with the key while the car is on. I thought I had read previously that it disables that as well, but I may be mistaken.

Also, what exactly does the delay lock do? I turned it on and off last night and couldn't see anything different.

I do have it auto lock when I leave which is awesome and I found out by reading that you can temporarily turn that off by pressing the unlock button on the drivers door while open for about 4 seconds and the car will notify you by chirp. Its reset the next time you drive.

Hey Everyone,

I was able to complete my research on this request. This chime is to alert the driver the key is in the ignition and the door is open and the fob is leaving the vehicle. It is designed to alert driver that he/she is leaving the key in the ignition and cannot be turned off. I am sorry if this is not the answer you wanted. For clarification, this is when the vehicle is on.

Nice try, but that doesn't work. That disables the double-honk when you close the door and the fob is still in the car.

I hate to be the one to say this but, the SS does not have an ignition key.
Maybe in reference to ignition on.
