Yesterday evening I took my SS to a SCCA "track night in america" event at Thompson MS in CT. In the pouring rain. It performed flawlessly. I ran in the intermediate group and ended up getting point-bys by everything from track-prepped miatas to a 996 911 to an E36M3. Many people came up to me between sessions and asked about the car, many of them being folks whom I had passed. They all said "wow - that thing moves. And sounds awesome". I ran in the sport mode rather than performance mode to keep the all nannies on in the rain. But (probably) not necessary - car was totally predictable, catchable and gave plenty of warning. The stability control kicked in twice - though both times it was earlier, and more violent that I would have preferred. Only thing that I will do differently next time is put the stock front pads back in. The Z16 ceramics were a bit unpredictable, and occasionally faded, even in the rain. I was not surprised.
