Made 20 passes total and even a few with my stock tires/wheels which at this power level are just fine.

As we started the day the tires were kind of cold and needed some heat. Times got better making Hot laps for 15mins.

Run #5 was the best with [email protected]!! Had a blast. Made 20 passes. Have to load a LOT of video.

I will load the rest later. Busy day today.

Even had another fellow SSForums member Kevin with his PBM SS! Great Day. Will post more tomorrow.

Nice runs!! I need to settle on some wheels and drag radials.
How were you launching the car and with what settings?
Honestly didn't need the drag radials at all. Made a couple passes later in the day. No burnout on the stock wheels/tires and did a 12.7 on those.

Launching at 1,000-1,300rpms and all TC/Stabilitrak off. Sport mode.

I use Drag Radials because I frequent the track and I will be adding my Nitrous kit soon. But at this level of power the stock wheels and tires are perfectly fine.

Liquid,
That's some really good times. I been messing with mine at the stoplights this weekend and I agree. I have the car with the kooks headers, exhaust and I can't get much over 1800 and then it just liters the tires. Sport mode. On the low gears it hits the chip hard and hesitates, I have no tune yet,I'm assuming the tune will take care of this. You think moving the shift chip to 6300,6400 with tune and headers will be best?

LiquidR3D great times/speed. Car seemed to launch great too. I am anxious to get back tot rack wed. and hopefully start in first gear this time.

What size DRs are you running. I have a set of MT 305 x 45R x19 DRs but some on forum say they won't fit without rubbing??

Last couple runs of the day were on the Stock wheels/tires. 2.046 60' They were just fine and pretty close to the same 60' I had with the Drag Radials. MY drag radials will come into play when I start using Nitrous.

My Drag Radials are 275/40/17 Hoosiers.

I honestly don't think I "need" them to make the passes. I would not buy a pair of 19" Drag radials you listed above. Too big and too tall.

You power level of your car is within range of your stock tires. My 60' on the Stock tires was almost the same as the Drag Radials. I just use the Drag Radials to save wear and tear on my street tires. I would advise against running the size tire you mentioned. Just my opinion.

LiquidR3D - Congrats on your times. Very likely the SS record at the moment.

I agree about the DRs. My best 60' time with drag radials is marginally better than my best 60' with summer only Bridgestones. If you can find a good deal on some used DRs that wouldn't be too bad if you plan to hit the track a lot. That way you're not burning up your good factory tires, but you have to weigh the costs. Another option would be find some 18" rims from a G8 GT with the summer only bridgestones already on them. Avoid the goodyear RSAs.

Were you launching any differently with the drag radials?
Nope. Exactly the same. The stock tires grip very very well. Even with no burnout.

Surprisingly well.

So 3mph and a little more than .500 better than a stock car. Seems about spot on for the gains we saw on the dyno when combined with the transmission calibration.

PM with what you find out as I too thought about using that very size for the drag radials..(I also thought about buying that size (plus size when it's time to replace the rear tires)..

I'm also curious if left in Normal Mode but with the TC OFF/Stability Track ON/Competitve Mode (hit TC button twice) if that would improve your overall 1/4 mi time? Then try in Sport Mode, etc..My opinion let the computer do the work!

Leaving it in "Sport Mode" is letting the computer do the work. I made 20passes yesterday. It is the best way to get the quickest times.

Will definitely try sport mode but some say car starts in first gear in drive too as opposed to starting in 2nd gear??

Haven't heard from Liquid R3D what size DRs he is running yet???
Post #9 I answered and replied to your post about the Drag Radials.

Mine are 275/40/17 Hoosiers. Go check out post #9.
