Yeah I'm sure the interest rate will be pretty high, but it's a sacrifice I'm gonna have to make regardless. I also plan to pay it off extremely quickly to help boost my credit as much as possible as quickly as possible. I could wait a few months and buy it cash, but I just need the loan honestly to get me back on track.

That's awesome that you love what you do and have a wife that brings in the bread. Right now me an my fiance are the opposite of you two. She loves what she's doing(Interior Design) and I bring in 4 times more than her lol. BUT she's just starting and she's amazing at it. She's already getting more work than she can handle and she hasn't even finished school yet lol. So I can see our roles switching in 2 years and her making substantially more than me once she gets rolling.
Wasn't always that way for me. I'm probably an old man compared to you! I have one starting college in the fall, gosh I'm old...

Lol yeah I'm fairly young at 27. I consider myself very lucky to be where I am so early in life. But I also know I worked my @$$ off to get here because I didn't want my kids growing up the way I did so I've had almost no free time in the last 10 years lol. I'm still not done with college though. Finished my Associates in Architecture, then switched back to the Computer Science field because the money is way better and I have 7 years experience in the field. Now pursuing my BS online which should be done this fall :D. Then onto a MS in System Engineering or Software Development lol. I literally wake up, work, pick up my son (18 months), take care of him, bath time, bed time for him at 8, then work on homework till about 2AM every day at this point. I have enough credits for 2 Bachelors but my dumb@$$ self changed my major 5 times lol. I pick 1 day a week to relax, but even when I do i just feel lazy because I'm so used to pushing myself lol. Me and my fiance just had this talk last night actually. But we have to work now so we don't have to later. And in 10 years I'll look back and be so glad I did.

I wonder if anyone on here knows that car. Not that many made and I would figure if someone did the Holden swap they were an enthusiast and might be on here, or might have been on here.

Yeah that's what I was really hoping lol. I put it on the forums hoping to figure that out and see what I could find out that the dealership doesn't know already lol.

Err...
That was exhausting just reading it.
You came here looking for direction so here it is.
You're relatively young in relation to me but your not young. You are way behind for your age, actually, and you obviously have issues with decision making.
The absolute last thing you need now is a gas guzzling high insurance 20,000 mile been rode like a hoe mid life crisis 12 points on libor anchor around your neck.
your welcome

Lol I sense strong sarcasm here. Mostly because I don't know many other 27 year old's that grew up in trailer parks their hole lives making 6 figure incomes with almost zero bills to worry about without even finishing their degree yet. And I did have problems with my degree, but that's the only problem I've ever had with decision making. I went from information security to mechanical engineering to mechatronics to architecture and now I'm almost finished with my CS degree. They're all fairly related, and I didn't have to pay for any of my classes due to Tuition assistance from the military. I'm very calculated. Very thorough. And only make a decision when I know the outcome will not change. But if I get free education I'm okay with taking extra classes, because above all I have a strong love of learning. I appreciate your input, but I just wanted to make it clear that I don't believe I'm behind for my age at all. **** most of my friends sit at home playing xbox all day still let alone have multiple income streams and are in route to start a business in the next year.

I like that car. It was discussed on one of the FB groups a few days ago too and thought for sure someone would pop up and say 'hey that was mine' but nothing.

Carfax looks good. It's already had 2 owners but it's clean. It was in FL the entire time.

I agree with others who say that's a very fair price for a 6M car.

I saw that car also. I work for a gm dealer and found that it has been GM Certified on 02/03/16. Warranty is extended an additional 12000 miles and 12 months. Powertrain goes an additional year.
Brake rotors were replaced at 5962 miles. Rear differential replaced at 9681 miles.
Some misc trim was replaced. That is all I know.

Dude, open a platinum credit card account and with your income:debt you'll probably get a 30k credit limit. Then your credit score will go up. Get the OBM you want now and take the shitty loan that doesn't have a pre-payment penalty and re-fi to a cheaper one when your credit score goes up.

If he orders one tomorrow through Myron it will probably be processed. Then he has roughly 5 months to save 10K. Even at msrp he will have a new in the box SS for basically the same monthly payment as the 2 owner, 20,000 mile SS referenced.

Op, thank you for your service. Please, please join Navy Federal and USAA. I would app for the car loan at Navy with your score. When I started at Navy my score was in the mid 600's... I later moved all my banking to them and I'm 2 years I had 75k in revolving credit from them. You earned a right to use these services, use them.
USAA has covered all my insurance for ten years, they are second to none.
My SS is financed with GM financial but my last car with Navy was seamless, I asked over the phone and they sent me a blank check. You can app while joining. They are the best financial institution I have ever used.

Okay guys tomorrow's the day. I'm going to test drive a SLIHR 2015 M6 Sunroof package in West Chester, PA. I've been on the forums since about last summer. And I've been on and off and looked into all the opposition, and decided the SS is the way to go.

I wanted the 2017 OBM M6 sooooo badly, but it seems my credit isn't good enough. It's actually terrible at 603. My debt to income ratio is ridiculous at 15.67% compared to what it used to be lol. But because I had a bad year transitioning from the military and got behind on some bills my credit dropped by over 200 points :crying. However, I've literally paid off all my debt other than my mortgage now, but it's going to take a while to get that score back up to 800+ and get approved for the big loans. So I'm going to have to "settle" and go for a used 2015 M6 SS. I've found one about an hour away from me that is absolutely perfect. I personally think their price is a little high, but I'll see what I can talk them down to.

My hopeful ride home tomorrow -->2015 Chevrolet SS 6.2L 6-Speed West Chester PA 17076018

Just wanted to share to see if anyone had any input for me before I try and negotiate tomorrow and take this baby home. Also, I believe this may have been someone on the forums car previously. So if anyone knows who it used to belong to, or just knows anything about it beside the obvious please feel free to enlighten me!!!!

OP

I'm 28 almost 29.... I was in the military for 6 years and when I got out ....I literally had nothing to show for it when It came to money. I had all the knowledge and experiences but nothing on he money side to show for it.....I was stupid with money real stupid ,,,I made really really dumb decisions nobody's fault but my own. And in a way I'm still paying for those really dumb decisions and bad habits. However over the last few years I started to get better with money .....better late than never. I open two captiol one credit cards (these people will approve anybody) and I saw my credit jump big time.....I'm a implementation support consultant for a fortune 50 company and I still don't make anything near what you make but I'm comfortable and I thank the lord almighty for that. Since you make so much a month and your mortgage barely scratches at your monthly income.save a little for the car ....invest some money ( make that cash work for that ass) and save some in a account thats readily Available for access. And spend more time researching the vehicle for almost a year I watch YouTube videos every day ..read articles ....followed this forum and saved money until I was ready to purchase ,.,,,....I just started investing and I haven't look back since ....hope this helps

Tapped the link, no SS
Yeah I was reading this thread waiting for the "it sold before I could get there" post from the OP. If you really want anything that is even moderately desirable you have to pounce immediately, no making appointments for 10:30am on a sunny Saturday because rainy Friday afternoon guy will swipe it from you ;-)

Hopefully he's the same guy who posted a little while ago on the Long Island Holdens group that he was picking it up tomorrow. :eek

The link did work when he posted this thread but was removed not too long ago.

OP, get a credit card from a credit union, if you say you make as much as you do and it can be verified you will be approved, even if at a low limit. No big deal, then, use the card for your normal daily purchases and most importantly- pay it off in full every month. Do that and 6 months to a year your score improves and you don't have to worry about crappy rates on loans.

Better yet, if you don't need the loans (i.e. The low debt to income ratio) don't get them and just keep the activity going on the card for payment history which helps your score. You say you also have a mortgage so that will also help. Get some stability going in your credit and the score will go up. You should be able to pay for this car in full in just a few months of savings I'm not sure why you are worried about a car loan.

It's easy to learn about credit stuff, just read. it helps in all areas of your life not just loans, think insurance, etc.
