Since our SS's have been dogged down for so long, I suggest that after about 500 miles of driving have it aligned front and rear. I've found thru the years that this has served me well.
If you want the dealer can do it first time free. I don't use my dealer for this since I want it done right.

Doug, good info-thanks! Did a wheel alignment, soon after buying our SUV & it was off. Hope you see that new black SS real soon!

1- GM pays for wheel alignments under warranty for up to 7500 miles.

2- Highly unlikely specs are available yet in the aftermarket. I would venture the dealer would have to research or call to get the alignment specs since they won't be in the alignment equipment software yet!

3- Doing it right is strictly up to the tech taking his time doing it (hard with flat rate warranty times) ... alignments are not hard if you got good calibrated equipment and the correct specs with today's computerized equipment ..... not like us old guys who started out when scribing the tires, using a toe bar and camber level were the way. I knew an old guy in my youth who wouldn't give them up and could do a stellar 4 wheel alignment on IRS corvettes when most people including the dealers wouldn't touch them.

I still do my hot rod and race car alignments the way you described. Toe bar, tape measure, angle gage with home built adapters. Hands off the wheel at 150 mph. Yahoooo!!! No kidding. And no tire scrubbing!!

Yes and I would give a hundred bucks to find one now. I use to do this with trucks tires cost to much on these cars for me to fool around.

In addition to relying on a tech and the plus and minus tolerances of the specs. I guess it should go without saying, should always keep an eye on tires for unusual wear, feathering, etc.

If the steering wheel is not centered properly you can bet the farm the alignments off...

Probably due to being over tightly tied down during all the shipping adventures.
I was going to give it 500 miles and take it in. I only noticed it 2 days ago going down a flat road.

I'd do it sooner than later. Don't want to start an uneven tire wear pattern especially on the super soft quick wearing expensive summer only tires. Plus it makes it easier for you and the dealer to warranty it as shipping related because a lot of service mgrs won't want to do it readily because of the skinny warranty reimbursement and try to blame it on you hitting something.
