you boys remember Fiskar? The Hybrid darling that went belly up after selling maybe 4 cars. Well Bob Lutz is now involved and is retrofitting Supered LS9s from the ZR1 into the Karmas and selling them as something called Destino.... sounds like a broken down mid 90's Daewoo....

They plan to sell it for $200K as a refined luxury ride... Love the Feck it toss a Vette engine in mindset. I wish all hybrids were like this

So they are taking these cars that were supposed to be completely electric and putting V8 engines in them? Seems a little sacrilegious, but hey I guess it didn't work before so its time to try something new. must be hard for the old owner of Fiskar to see though.

But then its not a hybrid anymore. It would have been cooler if they could have somehow added the V8 and kept the electric motor.

608hp V8 + 279hp electric = 887hp

Mclaren P1
727hp V8 + 176hp electric = 906hp

La Ferrari
789hp V12 + 161hp electric = 950hp

Plus the Fisker was never a hybrid to begin with. It was an electric car with a range extending generator.

I saw a Fisker on the road last week. They are simply one of the most beautiful cars ever designed. Too bad it was a week ass wanna be plugin hybrid. Glad Lutz has stepped up and is actually going to make something out of it and give current owners another option when the rest of the car fails.

again, thats the joke... Unfortunately those cars are not very fuel efficient. The torque is used to augment petrol performance. LeMans cars have been doing this for years now. But again, not really hybrids.

Hybrids should not exist, battery technology is too weak to support their wide spread adoption. We need to start looking into magnets and regenerative wheels. Imagine, a small battery to get the car moving that can draw power from solar or the wall for that matter, and then the vehicle sustains and charges its little batteries through rolling alternators or better known as tires
