This is my first "SS". I've owned it for 44 years. It too is street legal now. Used to run high 8's at 150+mph on alcohol. You oughta hear this one!! It has a full round tube frame, 439 BBC with EFI stack injection. It is real fun to drive the 4-speed Lenco on the street. And I have no traction with the big Mickey's. What else is a 65 year old guy gonna do??? I want my new SS, BAD!!

VERY NICE '65! My first car ever was a '64 Chevelle, 283 with a stick. It was NOTHING like yours but I learned a lot on that car.

I bought this '65 in 1969 when I came home from Mekong River Duty in the US Navy. It was originally a 283 with a 4-speed and trailer towing package (factory air shocks, big radiator and a hitch). I only drove it on the street 'til 1974 when I started drag racing it with a 396 then to a 427, then to a full frame job, etc, etc. Could have bought about five new SS's with what I have poured in this beast.

Yes I have a bunch of old time street and race pix of this car BUT they are not digital. I do have requests from time to time for pix of this car's history and that might spurn me to have the pix digitized. I could scan them I guess, but I don't know what quality that would be. Some are Polaroids!!

Mmm meaty tires! You must break a lot of necks in your area and scare a lot of kids lol

Looks great I love the color.

Doesnt look like it ;)

Headrat do you still get out to the track much with your SS or are you content with scaring small children as you idle by at 10 mph LOL
The scare factor is what I strive for. LOL. The scare factor for my passenger, whomever that might be, is even greater!!! LOL,LOL. When you pull the levers on a Lenco when you're on it, the feeling has no comparison. Kinda like 750 horses hittin' you in the back!! Fun, fun.

Thirty-two inch tall Mickey's, about 15 inches on the ground with a 14 inch wide wheel. And I can smoke'em. My next tires will be street type drag radials. I wish we could get our new SS's in blue. This blue on my Chevelle is 2006 Honda Fit "Vivid Blue Pearl". Water based. The roof is House of Color "Orion Silver". Solvent based. With Solvent based clear. I have one friend who insists that I warn him if I'm going to nail it so he can duck down. You see, there is a diagonal brace in the roof cage that runs right above the passengers head. When I built the car like this 23 years ago, I never dreamed I would put a passenger seat in it one day. Oh, well, the short ladies get a kick out of it, especially the short lady I have been married to for 30 years!!! God bless her for her support in ALL this stuff.
