With rumors/speculation flying around about a higher-performance Chevrolet SS for the future, would you guys like this model to be a supercharged ZL1 SS?

Currently the naturally aspirated 2014 Chevrolet SS makes 415hp and some can argue that it's not enough or could be better.

If you would like to see something different in the higher-performance Chevy SS, feel free to share it in this thread!

Why wouldn't GM offer a blown LT1 for the SS Sedan ???
It's off the shelf parts.

I'd rather see AWD and DCT, but a blown LT1 with a manual would satsify a lot of people's needs.

Good point. More power is nice but not nice if we can't put it down properly. If I have to ask GM for more from the SS, an all wheel drive system will be one of them. But a blown LT1 with a six-speed manual transmission is tempting :D

Anyone who has any sense wants all wheel drive.
Sure, I LOVE oversteer. But, it's not optimal on a daily driver or a 4,000lb sedan.
Add wet and cold roads, and AWD should have been a no brainer for GM.

Even if you are all about performance, TRACTION is the real issue.
Modded V8's have been making more power than we could ever put to the road for the last 20 years.
Go drive a Panamera Turbo, a new 911 PDK, or even a lowly STI and you'll get it.

If you are really "hard core", then a "slick tire only" toy is going to be the only thing that is going to keep you happy anyway.
If I was still on a tight budget, I'd buy a $2000 1000cc bike for all out fun and I would still want a AWD commuter.

I don't think that is true. RWD still has its perks over AWD. Heck even FWD has some perks.

Another thing to consider is that not all AWD systems are equal. A bad AWD system would just as well ruin the SS.

I don't think much people are mad that the SS is AWD. I do think that it should come in manual and even a dual clutch auto though.

If there's anything Chevrolet needs to do ASAP to "improve" the SS is offer a manual transmission, along with a DCT automatic. Chances are this is what we'll see happen next year.....more so manual than DCT.
