I figure its cheap enough for a correct fit. I have bought the "one size fits all" type and didnt really care for them. Told her if we are spending the money this time we are getting a nice one that fits right and this is the first one I have seen for the SS.

Exactly, I wouldn't bother with a"universal" type shade. Thanks for the link.

Like Boosted, I have the UVS1000 by Covercraft, fit's like it was made for the SS... cause it was. I would easily say it keeps the interior 15 degrees cooler than without a shade. I bought mine from Summit Racing and thy have Covercraft drop ship to me, p/n: UV11347SV (silver) $55.00.

I used to sell Covercraft products and we have UVS sun shields in all our cars. The one in our Suburban is 15 years old, still looks like new, and that truck is in our driveway all the time, never in the garage. Our summer days hit 100+ often.

I too have the Sunshade and for sure it is great quality.

Plan to order a DashMat this next week. Dash in this (and most cars today) is huge and black. And while the Sunshade is good when parked, I like the Dashmat while driving around.

I purchased a light gray one for my black Impala a couple of years ago and it made all the difference in the Southern summer sun/heat. Also, often when running errands I don't pop in the Sunshade. The dash would get super hot.
But not now with light gray dash cover. Way more comfortable when return to car and AC sure seems to work better.

I always wear polarized sun glasses so any reflection from the gray mat is negated.
Also with the SS, anything to preserve the interior works for me as plan to have the car for years.

Final note, for the Impala, I've had the Dashmat for 3 years and never used the 2-sided tape to hold in place. Mat hardly moves and take out to clean windshield. For SS will probably take out for showing and special events.

Good call on the dash mat. Which one do you plan on going with?

Amazon has em too. A few different colors. Just search "Covercraft sunshade g8". Prime Shipping!
I looked there and didn't see silver for the SS shade. Only Gold and Pink which I'm not interested in. They have the G8 shade in a bunch of colors and I know it fits but I wonder if it is the exact same dimensions.

I am calling this week to verify that:

The gray for the "Suede" mat is the light gray and not their darker gray.

Also, to verify all proper molded in areas for HUD, dash light sensor etc.

I think the suede will look a little nicer. I am very happy with the service of the standard dashmat and all slots for defroster and light sensor were near perfect on my existing unit. I have no reason to believe one for SS would be any less.
One member here had a problem with expensive car cover, but that was a model year "fin" problem fit.

Will let you know when it gets here. Dashmat definitely function over aesthetics, but what the hey? LOL
