Found this interesting: Steve Manson, Holden Engineering Program Manager for the SS talks SS. Skip ahead to 11:45 on the Video, unless you want to count how many times the marketing guy says "um".
Particularly the three modes of the car and how the steering changes when you put the car in track mode. Had to try it today, took the SS on the highway and definitely could tell the difference in the steering, much better response and feel. I'll probably use this mode more often.

On another note, or thread, I broke 100 miles on the odo, and the highway driving has me up to 12 mpg now from 11.

I didn't realize competitive mode also changed the steering feel of the car. I usually drive with everything fully disabled (holding T/C down for a few seconds). Going to give competitive mode a try and see how it is.

Tested it out today and competitive mode does indeed tighten up the steering feel, you can feel it takes more effort to turn the wheel and improves responsiveness. I'm going to be taking my car out to the autocross in a couple of weeks and, depending on how many runs I can get in, will try out the various TCS & ST settings.

Bad news im in chicago acura dealer called 3 chevy dealers to get appraisal. Chevy said cars worth 35000 and said its not doing well told acura dont buy car because chevys putting 6000 rebate. Next month and there mite not be a 15

I can't imagine it's going to be canceled for 2015, but I'd sure like some clarity on that as I am intent on waiting for the 2015 release hoping for additional colors.

As an aside, I don't think the car was ever meant to do "well" because it's a limited release with zero marketing behind it (other than being plastered on the front of the Chevy NASCAR cars).

Why would an Acura dealer call a Chevy dealer to ask about cars? Why would you want them to? Just go to the Chevy dealer and ask yourself.

I don't see any benefits of competitive mode for drag racing, turning everything completely off will be perfectly fine IMO.

Well...played with the traction control button and hitting it twice gives you the competitive mode...simple nuff

Ah okay, yeah it would have made a difference lol. Did you run with just T/C off or everything fully disabled?
