Hey everyone, decided I would share some pix of the new wheels that Jon @Bestwheeldeals squared me away with. They definitely fill the rear wheel wells.
alright then! Got the twins mounted for test fit to make sure I would be good with no surprises. Used a Huron Speed Gen5 Camaro twin kit with 6871's. Still need to test run the intake piping and cold side ...new motor not installed yet, using the LS3 right now...
So, I've been negligent with updating this thread...lots of life in the way...
Car is at the fab shop getting some fitting done...see below...no, the hood doesn't close, lol
6871 1.06ar air-cooled Comp Turbo's
AES built Dart LS400" stroker spec'd by me
GPTuning custom twin turbo cam
M311 heads with 1.72 TSP roller tip rockers
Manton pushrods
Stg2 FI Interchiller
Shearer A2W 1800hp intake
103TB
undecided to run meth or not
Fore triple with -274 primary and -285s secondary with hydramats
Off she goes!
the psgr turbo was the biggest headache. both turbos hung below the frame rails...after some looking around and a few noodles thrown at the wall, the idea to modify from the back of the manifolds to the turbo and remove the starter heat shield was decided on...we were able to raise the psgr turbo almost 1.25", almost sitting flush with the Turbo Joe subframe...drvr side to come, should be much easier, since an oil cooler delete was done in the past
Some v-band fit up and weld porn... by putting v-bands on the manifold and the turbo connection, we were able to add some minute adjustments front to rear and side to side to really dial in the fit
don't worry, the cold side will be cut and a 90* elbow will be welded on prior to final placement...everything will be coated and wrapped to mitigate heat issues and turbo blankets will be installed also. there is also a skid plate that will be mounted to further protect the turbos, as screens will be put on until I figure out a filter solution...
up next, charge pipes and exhaust...still tossing around the idea of boost actuated cutouts...
wastegates are mounted and dumptubes are done, turbos are mounted, one side of the charge piping is mocked up (don't have pic yet, will post when I get it), exhaust to follow...
Quick update...fab work is done! Car is getting delivered this weekend...Since I know there will be questions about the exhaust, I had a 3" Solo Street Race exhaust that had not yet been installed, so it was used as the foundation, with Stainless Bros 18" bullets and 12" ovals to complete. Should be nice and quiet.
Hi everyone, not alot to post lately...work/ life has taken precedence...got a few tho...
New hood and headlights mounted
Smeding Steam vent kit installed
Space shuttle fuel pumps 3- TI 525 pumps
Shearer 1800hp A2W intake on Holley Lo Ram
Pumps installed, ready for plumbing and flight. I was able to figure out with a lot of help, the fittings needed to keep the stock pressure sensor in place. I'll use a VaporWorx fuel controller and put a gauge in the fuel dampener to see pressure at the rails. Will use a -10 line to the engine, and the stock fuel line for pressure relief. Not pictured is the 3 hydramats I put on the bottom of the pumps...Should never have any starvation issues...
