I searched but couldn't find anything on here about wheel care. I know they are forged aluminum, but are they clear coated? My GXP wheels have the CC and need to be waxed. Not sure what to use on the SS wheels. Manual is not much help.

Wheels and Trim—Aluminum
or Chrome
Use a soft, clean cloth with mild
soap and water to clean the wheels.
After rinsing thoroughly with clean
water, dry with a soft, clean towel.
A wax may then be applied.

Chrome wheels and other chrome
trim may be damaged if the
vehicle is not washed after driving
on roads that have been sprayed
with magnesium, calcium,
or sodium chloride. These
chlorides are used on roads for
conditions such as ice and dust.
Always wash the chrome with
soap and water after exposure.

To avoid surface damage, do not
use strong soaps, chemicals,
abrasive polishes, cleaners,
brushes, or cleaners that contain
acid on aluminum or
chrome-plated wheels. Use only
approved cleaners. Also, never
drive a vehicle with aluminum or
chrome-plated wheels through an
automatic car wash that uses
silicone carbide tire cleaning
brushes. Damage could occur
and the repairs would not be
covered by the vehicle warranty

Yes, I read all that. I guess I was looking for more than three generic sentences followed by giant caution blocks about chrome wheels and car washes. (Chrome wheels?) Makes you wonder how many vehicle models get this same phraseology. Nothing about clear coating or treating the wheels like a painted surface, just disclaimerese.

I'd say that makes the issue one for the Customer Care reps to look into for the community.....
