Not looking for a car magazine report but how do we fare against the SRT's at the strip or in impromptu stop lite meetings? I would think we do quite well?:duel:

Just this past Friday I was getting on the freeway and did not recognize a newer Hemi Challenger coming up on my left rear. He was movin'. I punched it at about 65 and got up on him quick and then the fun began. I kept up with him to 115 and then we had traffic. We exchanged thumbs up and parted ways. I am a beleiver in our SS's, especially now!!!

I ran a 6.1 SRT challenger last weekend and got him by 2 cars from 70-130. Im sure the new 6.4's will be a good run, should be evenly matched.

SRT cars have more torque but 200-300 lbs as well. Stock cars are likely a push...

Watching Super Bee SRTs at the track, bone stock running low to mid 13s. Not impressed.

This was a 470hp/470tq with 392 rear gear.

Look at that time compared to my SS with a tune and Cold Air Intake. I'll gladly take the SS.

Dont look at the ET, look at the MPH. With a driver mod that car should be atleast .4 quicker based on MPH.

I only recorded it in the first place for this reason, to show the forum guys how they really stack up. He made a dozen or so passes and this is just one I recorded. He did run a 13.2 or so. Still not impressed.

All the while I was there running a 100shot on my G8 GT that day running 12.0-12.2

Not impressed by the new Mopars one bit. Takes a TON of $$ to get them moving. Got a few guys here local who have a TON on $ into Superchargers/Built Trans/Header/Exhaust/Slicks & Sinnnys/rear ends/Wheels etc etc etc on the 6.1SRTs and 11.23 was the best from the one with built Trans from Southern Hotrod and the other guy won't even take his to the track now that it is boosted in fear of breaking the rear end.

You put a Procharger on a LS3 and supporting mods... what do ya get? ****, even Shane's old G8 with a Pro Charger... 10s!

Ran into a couple Challengers at the Rock last month. We all had traction problems, but they could never seem to run better than a 13.28. The MPH did not indicate the car was capable of much more. One was stock one had a CAI.
Even had one tree me and still ran him down.

They should be around .3 and 3 mph faster given all else equal . When modded they lose their advantage. SS's are picking up big hp with just CAI tune and with headers coming from Kooks and Stainless Works. Looks like a gain of around 60 ish with all that . The Mopars are tough to tune and only pick up around 40ish with those mods.

Theorectically that would make it a drivers race.....we shall see.

Going to the Rock on the 13th of may. I'll run with stock tires only so we'll see how we do . I just want to be respectable.

How close are you to me? I'm Mooresville, about 20Miles north of Charlotte on 77.
Maybe we can meet up some time for BS session.

Check out the 2015 Challenger 392 Hemi Shaker car coming this Fall. 485 horsepower, 8 speed auto transmission with mid-4 sec 0 to 60 times and low 12 sec 1/4 times off the showroom floor. Ouch!
I just can't bring myself to compare the SS to a Challenger. They compete in very different segments. The Charger/300, sure...but not the Challenger. It competes with the Camaro and the SRT8 loses to the ZL1.

As far as Charger/300 vs. SS...the fit and finish of the interior on the SS makes up for the 55hp missing under the hood. Combine that with handling that outperforms the Charger/300 SRT8 around a track...I'm good.

SS vs Challenger SRT8

Sunday on the way back from 18 holes my buddy was in his 2012 Challenger SRT8 and we did a rolling start from about 45 MPH. The SS walked away up to 140 before having to brake for traffic. At the next light traffic had allowed him to get in front of me but we were first and second. Green light WOT I had to let up twice to keep from running over him up to 100 MPH. Unfortunately traffic in right lane would not allow a pass attempt. Maybe next Sunday. Both cars stock with only CAI's. Sure was fun. Oh yeah we passed a White Challenger R/T who pulled out behind us but never caught up.
