Welcome! The GT wheels will not clear the calipers.

#381 ·
Just mounted these as my track rims. They were dirt cheap closeouts on eBay $400 for the brand new. They are Privat Reserves, brand looks like it is defunct now. 19x9.5 et40. Needed to use 5mm spacers to clear the front calipers. Tires are Michelin Cup2s 265/35-19 square. Wanted to go 275s, but got an amazing deal on these.

Got new wheels and tires put on in early September. Had about 38k on the originals and honestly, they still have life left in them. Probably could've got another 10k out of them.

Went with AFF O2's in black chrome. 20X9 (et37) up front and 20x10.5 (et52) out back. Wrapped them in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. 265/35R20 flavor up front and some BEEFY 305/30R20 in the rear. Capped them off with some gorilla lug nuts and caps.

Did not lower the car or roll the fenders. No rubbing has occurred but suspect it could be an issue if I had a trunk load full of gear or was hauling around 2-3 of my larger buddies in the back seat.

Love the stance, love the look and the tire performance is WAY better than the stockers. Much much quieter, better grip in the corners, harder launches can be made. No input on wet weather performance as it hasn't rained out here yet.

Now for some pics....yes, I know she's dirty and they're not the best but you get the idea. Better pictures coming after I get it detailed and ceramic coated this winter.

I may have missed it but I didn't see mine on there.

I have XXR 559 Slingshot wheels in Bronze
Specs:
19 x 8.5 +40 w/ 1" Spacer - tire width 245
19 x 10 +40 - tire width 275

Also for context I'm lowered on eibachs and the rear fenders are rolled (I was getting slight rub with bumps during hard cornering.)

Those look great! I have been wondering what those wheels look like on the car. I have seen them on Maverick Man’s website, but the pics on the site just didn’t look right to me. It looked like the tires were too big. Yours looks perfect.

All of the wheel posts that I see on the entire site are linked in the first few posts on page 1, including the posts in this thread... until they took away the ability for me to edit, that is, which was when this new forum was implemented 6-ish months ago. The first few posts of the thread haven't been updated since then.

Anybody tried 20x11 et 55 on the rear? Thinking of pulling the trigger but I dont want to spend as much on body work as I do for the wheels. Lowered on springs, planning on doing coils this summer so I will have more control over the height if I need it. Also plan on having fenders rolled as a minimum.

#393 ·
That would be VERY tight and would definitely require rolling fenders. I'm running 20x10.5 (et52) with 305's on them and can't imagine being lowered AND having wider wheels. Even with rolling that seems pretty tight if not impossible.

Does anyone have a rear wheel spec for a drag set up?
Welds & M/Ts preferably. After hours going through all these awesome wheel packages, of which I will have to have one. I'm currently only looking for a rear pair for the weekend warrior street strip game. Looks are not my goal, just max grip and launch. I can't use the awesome power that is available now.
M/Ts are limited in sizes and I have not found the right set up for my stock 16 suspension. I know some guys apear to be running a drag type set up with out modifying more than a lip roll. An 18 that clears everything would be most beneficial for drag tire choices as far as I can tell. Any thoughts?

#400 ·
I have been all over these page for weeks.

But what is the general consenus with the rear and what we can get away with without rolling? I am on SSL's and want to stay on 19's. It seems 20mm out is acceptable without rolling. Is that fair to go with?

#404 ·
Yeah, I'm running a square setup so that I can rotate the wheels and get more life out the tires. I'm not sure you'll find a 17" that will fit over the brakes. I wanted to go with 18x9.5" and run 275s all around, because obviously 18s are cheaper a than 19s, and I'd like the extra sidewall. When I was looking I couldn't find anything that I could guarantee fitment that wasn't expensive, so I ended with what I've got.

If you're ok spending about $1200 on the wheels alone, I'd totally go with a set of Apex Wheels. They are great for track work, but I couldn't justify the cost. When a track weekend is $1k not including consumables, I try to be a cheap on things when I can.

Hey guys, does anyone know what type of wheels these are? It was posted on an SS Instagram page today and I commented asking what wheels they are but the account deleted my comment for some reason lol. I went through the wheel directory 2.0 on this site and also looked on ace alloys site because these look like something they would make but I couldnt find them. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

(Also, why do the headlights seem green? just curious if anyone knows)

That's a heck of a first post after stalking us for almost three years, welcome @696969 !

#414 ·
Does anyone know if there are any 18 inch wheels that can handle 275 or 285 wide tires for our SSes? I've only seen 245 on this list.

#415 ·
Need some opinions on this setup

I currently have the set of VMR 804s linked in this thread with 255 40 19 on the fronts and 285 35 19 on the rear

If anyone read about my latest track excursion I am looking for a wider front tire, I am currently at the stock ride height and have little interest in lowering the car.

I am looking at the Forgestar F14s with a square setup using a 9.5" wheel +35 running 275s up front and 285s out back. Not super thrilled about the extra poke on the back but my main concern are the fronts. Right now I have ~.75" clearance from the shoulder to the strut with -1° camber will I have any issues going to a 9.5" wheel? I would also like to get some more camber out of the new setup if room permits.

Will They Fit it says I will be 12.7mm closer to the strut which means I will have about .25" clearance from where I am now.
