If any one did not get the full size spare, did you get a smaller spare tire? Just noticed my SS has no spare tire. Just wondering before I call the dealership and get into an argument.

i gave up on spares when they quit being the same size as the stock tires.
its more hassle than its worth to change to a donut or "expanding" spare/
they are one and done tires and the coist to get a new onw, along with the cost to get a new regular tire means most never get replaced after use anyway.

i got a phone and a towing plan and i'll just use that regardless.

The spare is full size, exact same as the front tires. matching rim and all.
But someone has to tick the box at time of ordering the car.
Tick Box 1 --Get a spare wheel
Tick Box 2 -- Get a sunroof
End of difficult decision moment for Chevy SS buyers.

I have my dounut spare and jack kit I purchased from JHP to use with my G8 GT several years ago.

I wonder if I can us it on the SS?

Comes with either full size spare for MSRP of $500 or inflator kit. I got the inflator kit on the last two cars and use the pump that plugs into the cigarette outlet to adjust the air pressure monthly, air pressure changes quite a bit during seasonal changes Spring and Fall. I've gotten two flats in about 30 years, once when they did give full size spares and once with a donut car. I have not had to use the inflator kit for a flat yet.
Turns out the full size spare was the deal, the rim is the same as the front and retails for $995, and the tire for $345 mounted locally. Wish I could have ordered 4 at that price. At least now when I ruin a front wheel on one of these mega pot holes we have this year, I'll have a replacement ready to go. :)

Rear only. Front brakes will keep you from using it.

SS's that are fully loaded list for 47170 with sunroof roof only 46670, spare only 46270, and 45770 no spare or sunroof. Hope this helps everyone. Cost of full size spare that comes with the car will exceed 1000.00 with jack tire and wheel and other accessory's to hold it down. It is the front tire and mag with tpm.

Out of curiosity, does the spare wheel also come with a center cap? I got my car without the spare tire - you know, less weight because racecar.

No center cap on spare. There is a knob onto a threaded rod that goes through the center of the wheel and holds the spare down, and below that the jack.
I checked it out during pre-delivery, making sure it was there.
Definitely the value option to get at MSRP $500, actual front wheel and Bridgestone Potenza tire. I saw the balancing weights too.

For those of us without a spare tire, will Chevy eventually have a SS spare tire kit we can order?
You can buy all the parts from the dealer. But it is pricey. Plus you have to get a tire.
Space savers don't fit over the Brembos.

Great idea but would you like to drive home from a trip on a used tired just saying. You still need jack and hold down for tire unless you like listening to the rattle of all this bouncing around.

All depends on the size of your checkbook
The jack kit holds down the spare quite well. Had the same setup on my first G8. Of course that was a GT so I could use the spacesaver.
