When I picked up my car, the dealer said the free trial was for 3 months. There is nothing on the window sticker about the trial but the Chevvy SS brochure says it is a 12 month trial. Could you let me know what you received with your new car? I suspect it defaults to 3 months and then you 'remind' your dealer or Sirius at 3 months to get it extended. Thats what happened on my 2011 Grand Cherokee.

Thanks!

Keep in mind the brochure states somewhere that specifications are "subject to change" often, at the whim of GM, just for S's and G's.... etc....

Well, wife.com and I are hooked, kind of hate paying for it though as we really only listen to one station; 36, Alt Nation. I think it was only a 3 month trial that got us hooked.

Just like about almost anything now a valid 'coupon code', 'source code' or 'discount code' can be found when you use you friend google and search "xxxxx coupon code" etc.

AARP is getting real expensive and greedy on renewals even the 5 year ones. I played with google for 5 minutes and came up with the Moose Lodge 5 year deal coupon code for $40 something vs $60 something regular discounted renewal price and the Moose Lodge gets a small piece of the action when it's used!!! A double win and it worked by calling it in on the 800 number without being a member.

You will be amazed at what you can get a coupon code for. Last year I searched Home depot and came up with a valid cyber monday only bonus $5 off any purchase and applied it to a chest freezer which was already at an unbelievable price.

Seek and ye shall find!

If you let it go long enough without renewing, XM starts calling. Tell them no thanks. They'll call back and keep offering it lower and lower. The lowest we were offered on my wife's Cadillac (she only had a 3 month trial) was like fifty something bucks for the whole year. Tempting, but we still said no thanks, they haven't called back, it's been over a year. So I think fifty something for the year is the lowest.

Purchased SS 11Dec .... still playing today. Seems from my 09 GXP or the former 2011 Buick experiences that SIRUSXM rather easily/quickly can offer a 6-month renewal very reasonable. I forget the exact amount. With headers --> Corsa catback, I never listen to the radio on the GXP!

I've had my SS for 6 months and it's still playing. Can't even listen to terrestrial radio anymore. It's nice to get the free year, but I have had XM since 2004 when it was in my Grand Prix GTP and I am sold and listen all the time, except when I can have the windows open and listen to the music the SS makes. :)

XM

I'm curious, for those of you who've had your SS for more than 3 months, did XM end the service after 3 months or did it continue?

If it ended, what kind of hoops did you have to jump to get it extended?

Thanks!
I've had my SS for 8 months now and the XM is still kicking without any interuptions. It says 12 months on my window sticker, under standard equipment,(interior).

The Weather App, Fuel app etc are gone after 3 months. Those are Premium features of the SXM, The Sat radio is still playing. Gotta check my bank statement to make sure I'm not paying yet.

I've owned my SS for almost five months and ALL the apps are still on. No bank account activity yet.

I had an existing account before I bought the SS, the suspended the payment and transferred the SS into my existing account and refunded my payment for quarter 1 of 2014.

When I click Weather forecast or fuel it shows that those features and their "Free Trial" are up and gives a website to activate them again.

Apparently I only got 90 days free. Started Feb 16th, they Charged me for service on May 16th $43.45 for 1 quarter. That is $160+/year. Love my Sirius XM, however I like what I am entitled to as well.

On the phone waiting to speak to a rep.

The trial included with the SS is "XM All Access", so you should have Fuel and Weather apps for 12 months as well.

Good luck, Liquid! They seem to be from another planet (no pun intended), but persistence will pay off. Went round and round with them in May when we took delivery.
XM reps know nothing about the 1 year deal. Get Chevy Customer Care involved - they fixed ours in just a couple of days. According to my online account the year got stacked on top if the 3 months. We'll see. Hang in and don't take no as an answer!

Phone call for 27mins, referrred me to Dealership to resolve. The Chevrolet Dealership calls and sets up the plan and only selected 90day trial.... SOOOOOOOooooooo I will go to the dealer and see what's up. I took notes on my call and got a Case# for reference.

The Dealer will have to "Approve" the 12months as they are the ones who set it up as a new car. Should be ok, My dealer is/was great so far with my purchase. Will drive there today, only 2miles from home.
