Well I got to actually drive my SS today because the salt got washed away (temporarily ... going to snow again Monday!) and it was a balmy 60 out.

Here is the seat memory trick so you don't have to hold the button:

Running, in Park, foot on brake hit memory button # whichever QUICKLY. Like just for a nanosecond ... and it does it's thing.

If it doesn't you held it to long.

It is very touchy.

Stores the seat position without hitting store first.
No, after you store the position in memory people have been having problems getting it to return to the saved memory position without holding the # button until the seat finishes returning to the saved position. My 'trick' explains how touchy the button is ..... and how to get the 'one touch vs hold the button until the seat finishes moving' function to work.

For the past few days, I have been experiencing a problem with my seat position.

As soon as I open the door, the seat starts moving down and forward as if to another memory position. I have only used the other fob once and have returned to my original fob since. I have not set any memory than #1, which used to work with just a touch. Now I have to hold it to get it to do anything. I've tried the trick above with no success.

I have an appt tomorrow with my service dept. for this and to check out the infotainment system, which shut down on the highway last week and wouldnt come back on, even after a restart
I will update when I find out whats up.

Just a small clarification, you don't need your foot on the brake. You do need to be running and in Park, AND push the number of your seat setting quickly as CB stated. I have to do this several times a week after my wife drives the SS, albeit rather slowly for my liking.

How is it supposed to work? I have to hold my button down in order to get the seat to go to the memory point. First car I've had that does this. Normally you just touch it and the seat moves. Is it not supposed to work this way?

Is there anyway that you can program the seat to move back all the way once it's in park and you open the drivers door?

While we are talking about the Driver's seat I have a problem with seat. Three or four time, while the my SS was running and the car was parked. I opened the drive's door and the driver's seat starts moving forward, all the way up to the steering wheel. I have had to get out of the car before, because the seat keeps moving forward. The last time it happened I turned the car off so it would quit moving.

Am I the only one having this problem.

Thanks,

Did you use the other key fob right before this started happening?

I used it ONCE and it would do this to me ever since when I open the door.
The dealers solution was to set all 3 memories to my personal setting (#1)

If you were smoking a cigar and let your car watch the movie Christine that would explain it...
I would make sure that none of your seat presets are all the way forward. The presets may be fob related, I'm not sure. My wife is intimidated by the car, so my presets are all set for me and I've never had your issue. Good luck!

Maybe CB750, GTPprix, or a knowledgeable tech will chime in and prove me wrong on this:
For the 2014 SS I do not think the key fobs and the seat memory interact. It seems to be totally controlled by the button settings on the driver's door. That is also the way it is presented in the Owner's Manual, pages 3-5 & 3-6.
In addition, I have never experienced a change in the seat position attributable to the key fob regardless of which one is used to access/operate the vehicle.
It is extremely easy to accidentally bump one of the buttons for the millisecond it takes to activate a seat memory. This has happened repeatedly to me when lowering or raising the window while stopped.
Maybe someone with accurate knowledge about the fob/seat memory will give us a definite answer on this.

In my car with the car running and in P/N the seat will move automatically by pressing the button - it doesn't need to be a quick or swift press to make it happen, just a standard button press. When in gear or moving holding the memory button will move the seat position.

Thanks,14 Super Sport
I will check all the seat presets.
It's funny that my wife also mentioned the movie Christine, to explain the problem. Christine has done this when both me and my wife were in the driver seat.

Thanks, for the input. Chevelle Freak
