Visited my local dealer today and they got their first SS in red with roof. Comming from a G8 it looked pretty good in comparison. The car was sold already they would not let me drive it. On a startup it was pretty loud also i noticed the engine was shaking just like it did no my G8. I would expect them to fix that. The interior is much better then G8 seats are much more comfortable the dash setup is more Luxurious then sporty. which is ok. So i asked him at what price are you selling them he told me 2K over MSRP i smiled and handed him the keys back and walked away. He says you do know you wont be able to just purchase this car you need to order it. They are now building them in Australia i smiled again and said i know.

Mine does that too, but doesn't calm down unless I rev it to 1200 or so...

Lol thats Robert Chevy isn't it? I was at Atlantic Chevy on sunday and they had a white one in their showroom and a silver one sitting outside. I asked to test drive one and they told me that they were only doing test drives on cars after you signed a deal subject to a test drive. Bical Chevy called me yesterday telling me they had one I can look at too. I might try seeing if I can test drive that one.

Chevrolet need to put three of these cars on a truck and do a road trip around all the dealers. The dealers let you know when they are in town and you can book a road test with the Chevrolet owned cars. They can also have a presentation night at each dealer where you can look over the cars and have someone from Chev or Holden to explain about the cars features etc. Would be cheap advertising for the car.

Well GM used to do "Ride and Drives".

Like a mini "Parade of Progress" ...

I went to one in 2010 at a big multi-store dealer group's Cadillac/GMC/Buick store. 50" flat screen TV 1st raffle prize; BBQ; hot dogs; burgers; clowns; face painting; moonbounce ... everything but free beer and the whole shebang was paid for by GM.

Test drives were in GM owned vehicles on manufacturer plates trailered in.

Had an "extended unofficial" (still had to do the breathalyzer though) CTS-V test drive and got to do it with the nannies off after we got a ways away from the predetermined route and crowd. The GM employee that rode shotgun was instructed to let me have some fun and do whatever I wanted "just bring it back with the wheels on the ground." What a ride!

The first VIN 000001 pilot production CTS coupe was on display. It was silver. Only a few GM employees were allowed to drive it and there were a few limited rides as a passenger only!

Haven't had one around here in ages ... a big mistake on GM's part. The head count was way over 1000 people not counting all the kiddies on a 98 degree June day.

It's funny you mention over 1000 plus however many kids. As those kids would remember the hopefully good experience afforded to their parents and also themselves to grow into future GM product owners.

Just because they can't drive doesn't mean they'll never drive
Most definitely!

And the 'mailing list' from the raffle tickets and test drive logs (with copies of driver's licenses) is something you could never get any other way!
