Took the SS out to the track again to see what I can muster stock before the mods begin. (Though with today's "announcement" of the '15 coming with a manual I may hold off on the mods).

I am extremely happy with the results.

First pass was about 15 minutes after arriving to the track - a 1.5 hour drive. Ran a 12.875 @ 109.97 with a 2.019 60'. Since the track was empty I decided to just hot lap to see what happens, and ran a 12.862 @ 105.15 with a 2.019 60'. Pretty consistent, but the MPH shows obvious heatsoak.

Best passes overall were
12.754 @ 110.37 with a 1.973 60'
followed by a
12.729 @ 105.78 with a 1.978 60'

My best launches with the car were going off idle and just matting it. When stalling it up it felt a little more sluggish, but my worst 60' was still a 2.019 and a best of 1.953.

Those are great times for bone stock and not tuned. How was the weather? Tire pressure?

DA was around 1100ish, it wasn't humid out for once - but ambient temp was still in the mid 80s. Untouched tire pressure, when I had checked it before my first run it was around 37. My car never had an issue blowing off the stock tires, it just hooks and books. Only when the roads are cold it'll spin like crazy.

Ah yeah, would make sense if I posted that information lol.

All runs were with everything (TCS, ST) fully disabled. Car was in sport mode and was set to automatic shifts. I didn't experiment with manually shifting it myself.

Way too many lol, hit 4000 on the way to the track this morning. This car is the first car where I've racked up mileage this fast.

Wow! I guess I'm just completely blown away. The track is actually only 19ft above sea level which is awesome.

I just randomly picked 8pm for the time of your run and if it was around then the DA was equal to 1,270 which if corrected = [email protected] which literally blows my mind.

Can you post a time slip? Is this a full 1/4mile track or 1,000ft track?

Give me a minute, I'll scan them all in along with the wristband. I'm ecstatic with the cars performance as well. Last time I took it out I was running 13.2 @ 108 with a 2.0x 60' - so the trap speed really hasn't changed much but the ETs are a big difference. These are full 1/4 mile runs.

With my [email protected] run I've used the HP calculator which if your type in your weight of vehicle and et/mph is gives am estimate of Crank HP. At a guess of 4,300lbs with gas and myself in the car it comes up with 455hp at the crank.

Which is a good guess. Considering a quick reversal of the math taking 17% off for drive train loss I've guessed my car to be close to 465hp at the crank. However that is with the tune and CAI which gave me 42hp/40tq gain over the stock #s.

Your run and guessing you weigh 50lbs or so less than my round ass says your crank HP is around 395.

I'm just wondering why or how my mph is almost 8mph faster for such a close run in ET?

Man these thing always male my brain hurt.

Well you have higher MPH because of all the mods - that's where they are showing. What were your 60' times? Air plays a huge role in drag strip performance as well - being to close to sea level has perks.

I planned it out so that I'd be running at the track today with less than 1/4 tank of gas - the last time I came out I had over 3/4 tank.

P.S. Time slips added to OP.

Proof positive these LS3s "loosen" up a bit after some miles and start to come alive. I've heard from a lot of people a stock LS3 with hardly any miles vs one with a few thousand dyno 20-30 numbers higher.
