As you may remember I started on this project way back at the end of January. We made a pull at the Rousch Dyno(Dynojet) with cool weather and low Humidity and came up with a baseline of 357RWHP.
My car then went to Kooks for design of Headers and exhaust in a complete package.
My goal is to have a solid performance daily driver without spending a fortune. I also wanted to get this done in a step-by-step process so I can judge the results more clearly.
Let me add at this point that I would heartily recommend Rousch to all my GM friends as they are a really well supplied hi-perf dealer. They can do all installs and they have in-house dyno shop for all needs. This is a great location for all the Southeastern Forum members and is run by longtime Nascar engine specialists .
Back to my results:
Remember we ran baseline in Jan. 357RWHP
We did runs with the Kooks Headers and Exhaust and no other changes. temps were mid to high 70's with lots of humidity 382.3RWHP
Now we added a K and N CAI to the mix and posted 392.5RWHP.
That CAI number seems to be what everyone sees with a CAI (10-12hpgain )
I have not done any tune at all because the GM specialist who does the tunes is out of town till next week.
I think I'm pretty satisfied with the results and should have little trouble breaking the 400RWHP number after the tune.
I'll finish with some Dragstrip work to see how it translates to the Dyno readings.
Also want you to know that Rousch is going to package a complete system upgrade using these components with a guaranteed RWHP. Drop your car off ,pick it up in a few and have your setup done and verified. For the Magnaflow fans they offer the system with either Kooks or Magnaflow exhaust.

Where is this Rousch shop? I live in the same area.

Rousch shop is in Mooresville . Exit 36 off of I-77 north.
When you go there talk to LaMar or Jeff Paxton. Jeff runs the Dyno shop and their install shop. He's really a sharp, top notch guy. He was a Rousch engine track tuner till the "family" came along. Stays home now and runs the back room. He is a real straight shooter and I would trust him doing anything.
For those that follow this they do tons of work with Kooks and also with Detroit Speed who do auto cross stuff and various hot rods. PM me if you need any more info

Please, please use a bigger font. I think you have good, interesting things to say, but it is difficult to read them.....:(

On that Dyno it show a Baseline of 14% Drivetrain loss from the 415hp to the 357rwhp figure.

So 456hp @ the Crank with 14% drivetrain loss will give you the 392rwhp figure. NICE GAINS!

I figure on the 17% loss of the Drive Train on the Dyno @ Livernois that mine is 465hp @ the crank. That is with the Tune obviously. Glad to see some good numbers from the Kooks Headers and exhaust! That may be the route I go.

I'm gonna just guess here than you will be close to 415RWHP once tuned. That is my guess. Post up your results when you get it done.

Once again, very nice gains!

Just got word today that I'm going to the "Rock" on Tuesday the 13th of May with Gagnazzi racing for a day of runs and a good time. Their owner Vick G and driver Dave Conelly are going to take turns behind the wheel so I'll know what a good driver can do with my rig.My fingers are crossed. Maybe I can beg my way into at least a burnout in a winning Pro Stock car. Anyway this will be a good education for me

Must be renting the drag strip. Makes me want to take the day off and come down and watch/learn.
Why doesn't the Z-Max Dragway in Concord have spectator days/nights? I'm not even saying races - just days or nights you can run your car to see where it times out. I'd pay $5 bucks a run to see what my times are like... wouldn't you other NC folks do the same?

Concord has a drag strip the old one was turned into a subdivision I thought years ago. I use to run the starting line I had the light controls at the line to set amount of head start for the lights.

It would likely be one flat entry and run as much as you can, but be a good bit more than $5.
Rockingham is $25 for car and driver on test and tune days. Run until they kick you out.

It's only a few years old. They built a 4 wide dragstrip next to the Dirt Track at Lowes Motorspeedway.

I don't understand the Z-Max not having any test and tune days. The rental price is even too high for the drag teams in the area ,that's why they go to Rockingham. That seems like a waste for Z-Max

They'd make more money off me if they charged by run. I just don't get why they don't do it. I get there's insurance challenges but other, lesser known, not as nice/new strips do it regularly. that facility is used only a few times a year.
