The 2014 Chevrolet SS is a four-door Corvette

The rear-drive, moonlights-as-a-cop-car, zombie-Pontiac rock star.

*The new Chevy SS is sharp, tactile, a joy to abuse, and the most rewarding Chevy sedan we've ever driven.

*The gearbox loss stings, but it's forgotten as soon as you bury the throttle. By our clock, the SS runs to 60 in just 4.5 seconds and demolishes the quarter-mile in only 12.9 seconds—performance on par with last year's BMW M3.

*These kinds of antics are addictive, as is the entire car.

*The car's lap time, 57.43 seconds, is a few tenths quicker than that of the all-wheel-drive Mercedes E63 AMG.

*Some may cry that the Chevy's $45,770 base price is too steep. But there's refinement here to rival the Europeans. The SS feels like an American version of the BMW M5.

*The SS is essentially a four-door Corvette.

Sure it is cool that the SS goes just as fast as a Corvette but i am not sure that that makes it a four-door Corvette. I mean it isn't a sports car at all. It is a sports sedan. I think that the two cars give the drivers a far different feel and image. One of the things I like best about the SS is that it goes fast without looking like a supercar. I prefer to show off with my engine and driving than with the sheet metal around it.

I agree.

Even from day one I said it wasn't deserving of the four-door corvette title. Its more like a 4 door camaro to me.

I think it was Reuss that started this 4 door vette thing

I think it is every bit applicable to the nick name 4-door-corvette. Four door Camaro insinuates it has poor visibility and there could be a v6 under the hood and possibly could be affordable to high school kids.

I think they are describing the feel, in the seat of the pants area, not the Lineage. Camaro's feel like boat's in comparison, add 2 more doors and you got a yacht with poor visibility...

The 4-door-vette thing always get's em riled up!

Imma put a C7 badge on mine, Bet. Lmfao.
