Okay so we high jacked another users thread because he brought up this question/issue.

How do you turn on the park lines when in reverse? Does the car have the option?

From my last one month of use I can't find an option that allows this. In the setting area you can turn symbols on for cross traffic and the button next to the shifter will only turn on and off the alert system it does not add/remove the parking lines found on most other new cars.

Let's discuss!

I have tried to do this exact same thing no results maybe the lines only come on when using self park feature. When you go to page 5-33 and follow the instructions the only choice is camera on or off nothing about turning lines on. So if I missed something please tell me what. Its on page 5-34 rear camera options under this it list options display off nothing else.
Page 9-37 references lines and to turn off use 5-33 for camera they are not there.

Has anyone went to vehicles settings under Collision/Detection Systems to see if turning on all park assist, side blind zone alert or rear cross traffic alert will cause lines to appear?
Will find sometime to see if this works today.

Hey guys nice to see some familiar faces here! :)

Was referred here by a member to answer this question as we do custom programming for these radios (IE Address input while moving, startup screen etc). I can confirm that unfortunately ALL of the my link radios in this family DO NOT have the programming present for backup alignment. I wish I knew why, I know the location to turn it on and it has ZERO effect. The odd thing is the calibration for the lines is present but the actual software portion is missing in action.

Hope this helps :)

Hmmm, that kinda sucks, I was hoping they would of done a software update for the MY14 Mylink, guess not. Hopefully there will be an update down the road.

Agreed :( Worst part is its been this way since that family of MyLink was released in 2012. My Volt has it and no backup lines :( Even stranger the "filler" radios for the 13+ Enclave while they aren't actual my link (they are skinned to look like them) even THOSE have the backup grid LOL

Hey can they add soft ware to this radio or will we need new radio to add lines. Only option was turn camera off. And under collision alert same not able to change settings.

Theoretically yes a software update could do it however I'm not holding my breath as this is the third year of this family of radios without it :(

Should see what Chevrolet Customer Service can find out about this. Maybe they can get it as the first recall.:sarcasm:

The issue I have is that my 2013 Acadia has these lines. So the remark that it wasn't in this lot of my link sucks. I guess that's the difference from Chevy to GMC? I wonder if we could petition to get an update? I can't wait to see what the service peeps on here have to say.

Its not in ANY of the Silverbox Based Mylink units (separate radio silver box and display) which is what the majority of units are in the field now. As I mentioned before the Enclave/Acadia radios aren't true mylink radios they are just skinned to look like the other units; the underlying hardware and software is completely different.

What Holden really should have done is adopted the CUE/HMI based setup from the 13+ Cadillacs and 14+ Impala, Regal, Lacrosse, Full Size trucks etc.

Look I don't want to be a pessimist as I want this just as bad as you guys do (because I could port the new software) but its been this way since the 2012MY for FAR higher volume vehicles and I've watched people complain about it since then to no avail. What I'm trying to say is don't be angry or disappointed if nothing happens :(

Should have some case for it since the owners manual pretty much implies it should be there. It clearly says, "The Rear Vision Camera (RVC) parking assist symbols, guidance lines, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) can be turned on or off through Vehicle Personalization.
See Vehicle Personalization on page 5-33."

yeah but if you have owned a few gm vehicles we all know how much incorrect info is in them and how much stuff is left out like the keyfob/memory thing!
