I guess it depends on whether it's a 14 or 15-17. If the latter, no, just knock the pins out and pull the pads. If this is the first time they're out, it may take some effort as the lube on the sides may be less than ideal.
Parking brake is internal band like drum brakes doesnt effect 2 pin pad change On the ss. On my silverado i just applied 12v with power probe to run the skrew back all the way when changed pads as parking brake is part of the caliper on it.
Gotcha. Thanks! I pulled a tire off and checked it out. The rears on my golf were a nightmare and needed a special tool for the parking brake. Took 3 hours on one side then only one on the other. Love and learn.
