well the rear is done. SS badges off SSV replaced it. also i decided to put the SSV (non-Red V) on. since the SS is closer to the SSV (non-Red V) rather then the Red V which is an actual redline... correct me if i am wrong.

anyhow here are photos

also finished up the side of the car with these too...

front is still not on yet. i have to wait for some things to happen first. ;) and yes the bumper needs to come off to get the grill on. ;)

Nice! Maybe CP can chime in on the V badge color. I thought the grill would come out like the G8's. Maybe those that have done it can clarify this.

Actually Maverick Man, your SS is a step above the Holden Redline spec, but is most definetly based on the SS-V Redline.

You gain the bigger donk, paddle shifters, memory seat, electric passenger seat, auto dimming mirror, heeted an cooled seats and slightly different front seats (modified HSV backrests and US spec headrests). You also get a dark interior trim finish similar to the standard SS-V, instead of the light suede trim used on SS-V Redline and Calais-V and optional on standard SS-V in Australia. There are some other things, like a slightly retuned and softer suspension setup, but that is all off the top of my head. The rest is minor trim stuff.

What you don't get that is on the Aussie Redline version as standard is:
Manual Transmission
Sunroof
Full Alloy Spare

Otherwise mate what you have is the full Redline spec car with some extra goodies I wouldn't mind having on my car. So the red SS-V badge is right to have on your Chev.... I mean Holden. :)

I put the black trim grill on my Redline, where the chrome normally is. You have to remove the front bar to do it. Not a big deal if you take your time. Some bolts across the front of the engine bay and some under the car.

The worst bit was I only had the black outer trims for the upper and lower grill as that is what Holden design sell. My wife and I had to fiddle about with screwdrivers to get the old trim off without breaking any of the tabs and then put the new ones on.

If you are getting this stuff shipped from Australia, then go for a whole upper and lower grill. It is much easier then. I guess you will need the whole upper grill anyway to get the Holden badge to fit.

I've got some photos of the whole process somewhere. I have never done anything like that before and took my time. Best part of a day to do. Most fiddling around with removing the chrome trim pieces. Taking the front bumper off it straight forward enough.

that would be great if you have images on what you removed to get the front bumper cover/bar off. i could guess but i rather not and i probably will not document it either. are the corners by the fender attached like the VZs? if so i presume you need to be careful to remove those.

What about the steering wheel :p

looking good!
working on trying to get an air bag. ;)

So is the original SS Badge on the rear just taped on? Why did you move the badge to the other side????
yes it is stuck on with double sided tape.

it is on the other side because that is where it is on the SSV in Australia ;) as shown here:
