Rays 57 g07fxx

i just had these test fitted on the SS today and they said they would fit so, i picked them up! :)

as much as i am not a fan of black wheels, i do like the style which i feel will work very well with the SS. i will be using these temporarily on my SS until the silver wheels i ordered come in.

these are RAYs 57FXX wheels, Flow Formed and in 20x9.5s and 20x10s

the 20x10 weights in at only about 25 lbs.

i will be probably going with Red Center Caps like these to match well the whole red and black theme i have going on. ;)

if you guys are not familiar with RAYS they are one of the number one wheel manufatures in Japan. They produce wheels for F1 and also have a few cars in ALMS like Bobby Rahal whom uses this brand on his own race teams car. given these shown here are street wheels, however RAYS has a huge background on maufacturing wheels.

these will go on after i lower the car in a few weeks. stay tune for images on the car. ;)

HSV have a similar themed style, They will look pretty hot on your Red Hot II SS :)
any photos of it on the SS?
Where did you purchase those wheels? Can you give us a ballpark on what they run?

Not a bad design, would be interested to see if they have them in closer to stock size and see just how much rotational weight can be saved. Wonder what other finishes they are offered in?
Nice! Can't wait to see them!

What is involved in a "test fit"? I'd be interested to know that a 10 inch rear would fit without issues.

Nice wheel--multiple sizes appear to be available. Not sure where to actually buy them, or what they may cost. Not likely to be "cheap".

Scroll or drag down-screen and see the BMW roadster with silver--very nice....

yeah i realized that after i bought them home. lol!

not yet. i just ordered tires today and they will not go on until i lower it. the car is going for coilover test fitment in two weeks. if all goes will then the wheels will go on it that weekend.

these are brought in by a US distributor called mackin industries. i am a distributor for their lug nut line. i can probably get these for you guys but they would be order only and probably take about 3 months minimum. these are about $800 USD. each. but before i even think about that i want to make sure these here fit. if these do with some minor fender rolling then we know the 19s with a 38 should be no problem.

according to this it looks like they have a 9 and a 8 in a 120 and about a 38 offset that should work.

RAYS WHEELS

do note the G07FFX and the 57FXX are the same time G0 are just eurofitment.

the 19 will be lighter then the 20 for sure. if you want really light go with a monoblock but they have to be about 1k each at least.

Nice! Can't wait to see them!
i can't either lol!

the disadvantage of the is you probably can't go any bigger then a 275 with the x10. where as if you went to a 9.5 you could probably get a 285 in there.

the issue with the 10 is you will probably need to roll the lip. which you will probably have to do anyway on any lowered car. not a big deal to me if done right. also the rear inner wheel lining might need to be trimmed but hard to say. if you look know the stock wheel and tire it is SOOOO close already. but again that is with the 50 something + offset. this where shown here is a +35. to me, that is the MAX you can go on this car without looking stupid. i might ad with a +35 wheel the car has to be lowered to look right.

the front can totally clear no problem from what we looked at. cranked both ways and tons of caliper clearance!

only truth will tell when i get the tires on and lower it.

Those are some sweet looking wheels. They remind me a lot of the wheels on the new 2014 Camaro Z71, reason why i like them so much.
Get them mounted asap!

What rubber are you going to use?

Really?

Can't wait for what comes next.....maybe a real name and location???

You're in SoCal, I've concluded, where this car struggles to stand out. Glad you're there and I am no more....many good things still happen in California, but it's not the place it was.

Even In-N-Out had to begin instituting an exit plan - maybe in my lifetime they'll get this far east!

I hate Maverick Man!

I hope all of his neighbors sublet to a commune! (It sounds like a Kali kind of thing to me)

Why do I hate Maverick Man? That's simple, it is because he can write off all his mods and "test fit" parts!

I hate you, Maverick Man! I hate you, Maverick Man! I hate you, Maverick Man! I hate you, Maverick Man! I hate you, Maverick Man! I hate you, Maverick Man! I envy you, Maverick Man! I envy you, Maverick Man!

P.S. Just had my meds, I feel much better now....

Those spokes look like they are just ready to rub up against a curb. You should just send me those wheels so I can protect them for you.

i will be sure to do that what is your address? ;) actually that photo above looks like they stick out but really they don't as you can see in this photo. ;) though the wheel is not totally streight.

also i spoke with tire company today. they said 255 in the front will work better. however i have wear these out first! lol! i feel it is possible maybe to get a 40 offset and run a 265 on the front "maybe". rears for sure i you could get a x10.5 in the rear. but only with an equivalent offset to the x10 35 offset.
