I am thinking about switching to pilot sport 4 as, but it's only in 285/40R19 for rear, can i use this without getting new rims?

In a word, Yes....

Many run the 285 width in the rear with no issues....

The problem is it's a 40, not 35. I think 285 is safe but my concern is if 40 will make the tire touch fender in some case or some other problem.
Stock ride height, don't think it would be a problem, lowered yes.....

Actually that size should look pretty good, will fill up the gap better without lowering....

Your bigger problem will be that it is over an inch taller than the 35 series tire. That is going to mess with your speedo calibration somewhat.

What tire are you switching from to go to the pilot sport 4?
