Has anyone here ever used a professional detailer? I'm getting cabin fever and I would like to get the car detailed and waxed/protected sooner than later.

Why not do it yourself? It always makes for a nice day.

If not I can not recommend anyone since I have never used a service.

While I assume most people are like me, the do-it-yourselfer type, there are limitations to what we can do. Example...tools, experience, products, and just plain scared to polish/wetsand for fear of damaging these expensive paint jobs. I would pay a professional to tackle serious professional detailing, and have in the past. As far as basic washes and maintenance/upkeep I am more than competent.

I agree that wet sanding is intimidating, but for a car so new, there is almost no chance that is needed. A day with a clay bar, random orbital and some liquid wax will make the car look better than any dealer showroom car.

Just finished clay, two step adams polish and some buttery wax on my wife's 2013 Acadia...looks better than when we bought it. Next weekend the SS gets a polish.

The two stet polish took all of the swirl marks out of the paint and buttery wax just makes the paint look so good. Only thing I didn't have time to do was put a coat of glaze on.

Chris at Nth Degree did my first detail and corrected all the scratches put on at the dealer.
I use to do these things myself, but with limited time and even less time to practice technique, I feel it is best to pay someone who I trust to perform the work to my expectations. Not to mention, some of the product is not cheap. The amount of time it takes to perfect black paint sucks!!
Chris has yet to disappoint, he will be by next week for a maintenance wash and wax on both the SS and the Silverado.

I can vouch for the job he did. And he was out working on it at C&C!
