More SS Photos

GM fans who miss the Pontiac G8 should be happy about the latest addition to the Chevrolet family. The 2014 SS, based on the next-generation Holden VF Commodore from Australia, will go on sale later this year.

The new rear-wheel-drive performance sedan debuted last weekend at the Daytona International Speedway. The last time the bow-tie brand had a rear-wheel-drive performance sedan in its lineup was the 1996 Impala. The 2014 SS will use the Corvette's 6.2-liter V-8, good for 415 horsepower and 415 pounds-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic is standard.

I was hoping they'd they keep even more modern with LED tail lights but sticking with regular tail lights might be their way to make room for improvements in the future or maybe not at all.

LED tail lights are the least of my concerns right now, considering how the chevy ss doesn't live up to it's "four door corvette" profile anymore. Before they start to make this car fancy and up the price because of fancy exterior modifications, performance should be a main focus.

When Chevrolet needs to recover the SS if things go sour, maybe then we'll get much more than what we're expecting.

I just saw the Holden version at the V8 Supercars Clipsal 500 in the metal and I will just say.

Absolutely Stunning and jaw dropping. From the lines on the hood to the rear end she is perfect. We all can only hope for the Kandy Fantale to make the cut as a production colour both here in Aus and for you guys in he US, and that they give you more colour full stop.

The Calais was also there and Prussian Steel as a colour is just pure class with the right amount of chrome.

Everything on both cars just work. Photographs can't capture its essence and presence.

So thats what the color on the VF SS-V I keep referring to as metallic orange is called, Kandy Fantale. Thanks Commodoreman! lol

here's a picture of a Kandy Fantale Commodore for anyone lost ...

Looks like we will be able to fit a dual tip exhaust through the rear fascia
where exactly can we put the dual tip exhaust through the rear fascia that'll still look OEM?

It seems fine where it is at the moment, sitting right below the bumper.
