OnStar app

I just wanted to throw this out there in case you didn't know and I haven't come across it in any other threads.

If you own a Chevy SS, then you most likely got 6 free months of OnStar and all its features plus 300 free phone minutes.

One of the coolest features is the OnStar app (I have it on the iphone). From it, you can do the following things:

lock car
unlock car
remote start
cancel start
activate horn & lights
stop horn & lights
See your fuel tank level
see fuel range
oil life remaining
tire pressure for all tires
current mileage
lifetime mpg
see your onstar phone number
see your onstar phone minutes left
search for a navigation waypoint and send it to your phone.

Anyways, it's an awesome app and if you don't have it, get it!! It's free.

Yep, use it on my ZL1 all the time ... They were suppose to release the app for the 2010, then backed out of it because it was too much work.
I've used this on my Denali and CTS; awesome app especially in the winter when you can remote start and have a toasty car to drive home.... or so says my spousal....

Win. Most people have their cellphone at easy access to being able to start your car with it remotely is a great feature

With an active OnStar subscription you can also configure Mapquest directions and send them to your car.... very handy for the less technically minded (spousal again...). You then press the button and retrieve your directions...
We just picked up our SS BUT were NOT offered ANY free minutes!!!
Just call OnStar, they'll hook you up...
we were told we would have to buy minutes....this from the onstar lady while we were in the car registering it
Surprising... normally they are very accommodating. When I activated my G8 GXP in April they gave me credit for minutes I had not used in my Denali and gave me another 250 that were good until late next year.
App still works when your free trail runs out apparently. As long as you activate it and the app is operational when the trail bleeds out. >.>

They offered to sell me minutes too. Figured I don't need them, have a cell phone.
This from the iPhone app store "Active OnStar Directions & Connections or Safe & Sound plan is required to access most features. On 2014 OnStar equipped vehicle, use RemoteLink once during your OnStar trial or consecutive subscription and retain access to the Key Fob Services-Remote Start, Remote Door Lock, Remote Horn andLights for 5 years from date of delivery. Key Fob Services do not include any emergency or other OnStar Services. 1.888.466.7827"
But, no there are no free minutes.......

I havent figured out how to use the app for both the SS and my truck yet ... anyone care to chime in on two or more vehicles for the app?

If you have the cars on the same OnStar account then you can swap, under the last tab on the bottom. I do this with my 2014 Acadia and the SS.
