When my ordered Yukon came in it had 2.7 miles and .5 hours on it right off the truck.

Our cars are going to have many more miles on them because of all the handling and the QC.

My point here is to start a thread where we could post the mileage of our cars when we first see them live and in person so we can tell if our dealers drove them around before telling us they had arrived or if they "gas a**ed" around in them prior to delivery.

PDI requires a test drive (rarely done in the real world) and they have to fill the tank (premium) that GM pays for.

When you do please say whether it was as delivered to dealer right off the truck, pre PDI or post PDI at delivery.

Expect some travel to be indicated on the odometer. We do not know the distances driven in Australia from the plant exit door to the storage yard or the distances at the Outer Harbor prior to ship loading. BUT, when they got to Benicia, the storage area is not next door to the dock. It is about 3/4 of a mile away. Then the cars that go to the rail yard get about another 1 to 1 1/2 miles on them. Also, if you notice a funny smelling exhaust, it is the Australian gas burning off. Heck, maybe that is what our gas SHOULD smell like without all the crap that's in it!!

You may be surprised, my G8 had 4 miles still wrapped up and 6 when I picked it up after they went to fill it up.

I see where you are going with this thread. After a few post, there should be an average of what mileage the cars are arriving with. Thats a good idea for the "ordered" cars, but not so much for dealer allocations as some may allow test drives.

my rule of thumb is anything more than around 20, i'll question it. 20 is still high, even 10 is. There's not much driving that needs to be done.

Moving the vehicle from lot to lot only requires so much distance. Then the Pre-Delivery Inspection only needs maybe 10 at the MOST

Here the dealer will plate a car and use it as a demonstrator. Good for high volume models but with the SS they will need to keep the test drives to a minimum before the miles add up

The SS, that I was fortunate enough to test drive on Saturday, had 17 miles on it. I probably put on 2 of those miles. Didn't want to add much mileage. It was a dealer car & not sure how much it'd been driven at the dealership. Know it didn't have much gas in it. Got an email Friday asking if I'd like to test drive on Saturday.

When they leave the factory they only have 18 liters of good Aussie gas in them. So about 4 1/2 gallons. Get behind one while it is running and sniff---- Smell funny??? I think that is probably what OUR gas SHOULD smell like!!!

You got it mines ordered and I want to have a feel if it got pulled by QC for repairs in Australia or California and test driven. I don't know if the QC paperwork from Australia was pulled out in CA and if they would put theirs in.

On my yukons it was shoved in the pass door cupholder area and listed a door handle replaced at Arlington after QC on my 2011. The guy that checks them in at the dealer just trashes them 99% of the time because the sales people don't need it clogging up the deal jacket.

Nobody knows what will show up when you punch it in in VIS.

Also I got to keep my dealer on the straight and narrow .... no touchy/drivey untill I inspect it.

We run 91 for regular unleaded then we go 95 and 98. I assume there isn't too much difference in the way it's processed? I'm not a big fuel expert. Although the car I am slowly building will run on E85 (same as V8Supercars) so I will have to learn about it at some point

If you ordered or placed a deposit on your SS, your car should NOT have more than 5 miles on it. If it has 6-10, you should ask some questions. If it has more than 15, you should be angry! If you did not order it, than anything under 50 is probably a good thing.

93 octane here in Ga that's not straight gas have to go way out in the country to find pure gas or Alabama. During the gas crunch trucks came in from bama with real gas My Z06 loved it. I wish they had filled the tank with 98 octane pure gas whoa that would be amazing gas mileage would go up to.
